Review of activities and achievements

We continued providing our yearly planned activities which included the following – a weekly exercise class and new age curling/boccia. We have had numerous day trips throughout the year along side a 2 night residential in Donegal. We have held seasonal events for pancake Tuesday, easter, Halloween and Christmas.

Finances

The charity accounts are in surplus. Any surplus money at end of financial year will be used for additional activities.

Finances are received from small grants from Fermanagh & Omagh District Council, volunteering grants from Department for communities, Daera and Black Santa Appeal. Other incomes received are from contributions from our members and users.

Administrative details

Trillick Senior Citizens is governed by 13 voluntary trustee members who meet on a regular basis to discuss and plan activities run by the club. It is governed by holding an annual AGM declaring its Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Vice Secretary and Treasurers for the incoming year. The group hold a current account with Ulster Bank which has two signatories on a cheque.

Public Statement

To promote the welfare of the aged in any manner deemed by law to be charitable and through a range of services will seek to promote the welfare of people aged 55 or over (hereinafter called the beneficiaries) in the Trillick area (the area of benefit)

The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: increased social interaction; increased opportunities for their well being and security e.g. provision of light bulbs, testing electric blanket; improved access to benefits via talks and information provision; avail of a holiday among their peers.

These benefits will be evidenced by verbal feedback on events and activities; growing attendance at events; photographs of events; return visits to the group. We do not anticipate any harm leading from the purposes of our charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are people in the Trillick area in Fermanagh & Omagh District Council. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is than a trustee might avail of the party or other events. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
