Charitable objects The charity was established to improve the conditions of life for the inhabitants of the Newtownstewart and District area. To achieve this object, the company aims to advance education and provide facilities, in the interest of social welfare, for recreation or other leisure-tiine occupation for the inhabitants of the area. They aim to achieve this through participation of statiitoiy bodies, voluntary organisations and indeed the inhabitants themselves. In furtherance of the objects, the coinpany built and now manages NeNvtownstewart Centre 2000, which not only provides facilities for a range of sportino and educational activities, but provides accommodation for the local playgroup and Siire Start group. Newtownstewart Leisiire Complex Limited is a registered charity with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland since 6 August ?015, under registration nuinber NIC102795. During the year, the company continued to lease accommodation to the local play¥ The company has a Service Level Agreement with Derry City & Strabane Disctrict Council ainounting to £37,500 per annum for the foreseeable future. Other small grants fiinded by Public Health Agency (CLEAR project), Derry City & strabane District Coiincil (Coininunity Support Fund ) and Western Trust have enabled the charity to provide free educational and recreational classes for local people. Under that law the trustees have elected to prepare the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kintsdoin Accounting Standards (United Kingdoin Geiierally Accepted Accounting Practice) including 'Accountino and Reporting by Charities= Statement of Recommended Practice, (FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standai'd applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland,). Under company law the Trustees must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the slate of affairs of the coinpany and of the profit or loss of the company for that year. In preparin<y these financial statements, the trustees are required to.. select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently- make judgements and estiinates that are reasonable and prudent. state whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recotjunended practice have been followed subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and prepare the financial statements on the goino concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. The Trustees are responsible for keepints adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the company's transactions and disclose with reasonable acciiracy at any tin)e the financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the financial statements coinply with the Companies Act 2006 and with the Charities Act (Nl) 2008. They are also responsible for safegiiarding tlie assets of the company and lience for takin reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. Statement of disclosure of information to auditors So far as each of the trustees in office at the date of approval of these financial stateinents are aware.. there is no relevant audit information of which the cornpany's auditors are unaware, and the trustees have taken all the steps that they ought to have taken to make themselves aware of any relevant audit information and to establish that the coinpany's auditors are aware of that inforination.
