We are an artist collective driven and sbaped by artistic process for tbe creation of new perforniances and projects. We
collaborate equAlly witb artists. participants and audiences to ￿eate new and ambitious creative expeTiences. Tinderbox
has received immense recognition for our productions and Creative training programmes with participallts and audiences
alluding to the celebration of playfulThcs5. imagination and cmpoweTTn¢nt for all. Tinderbox radically shifted ils
appro&cb to artistic collaboration providing a space for all artists and participants to share and unite through live
performance. We provided space for artists to exploTe multi- artistic fonns to fuel th¢ir own practic¢. We have explored
the dyTamics of Play with 300 artists througb the Play Machine progr4nync aDd have facilitated workshops iti s¢hools,
prisons and con)munity environm¢Dts.

-In 2023-24, Tinderbox Theatre Company continued lo deliver a dynamÉc tange of artistic and developmental
progr￿DM¢s, strengthenkThg its impact ott the theatre eomtryunity and bsyond. Key acbievements included:
l&ylJune 2023.. The HAP School. a week-IonE series of workshops. explored creative therapy with theatre
professionals. Twetsty actors. directors. musicians. and theatre-nthrs from across Northern Irelaod participated io this
intensive pro8ramme at the Cres¢ent Arts Centre.
Octob¢T 2023: Tinderbox was successful in secDTing fuDding from the DonnaDt Accounts Fund for a two-ycar
Business Development Producer. This milestone allowed the company to hire L4)uise Conaghan into a dedicated role.

- October 2023.. The critieally acclaimed production Rhino at the Lyric Theatre was a standout success, narned one of
the Top 50 Shows to See in the UK by The Stage. The production a¢hieved a near sell-out nm and was awarded Best
Revival at the LfK Theatre Awords.
- November 2023: kno¢iat¢ Director Ciaran Haggety ran a six-week film course titled Thinking in Frame,. desigThed
lo nuthre emerging filmmakers. The ¢outse introduced participants to the language of film and provided essential
insights for ￿lting or directing short films.
December 2023: A significant govemaoce chènge saw Stephen Beggs step down as Chair of the Board. T￿St¢¢$
Janine Walker and Rachel L¢itch were appointed as Co-chairs. marking a new phase of leadersbip for Tinderbox.
- January 2024.. The Holding Ground Festival explored the intersection of art aod creative therapies while showcasing
the production Holding Ground by Jack Dawson. Develop¢d in partnership with Women's Aid. the festival highlighted
the Social Action Youth Project. which amplified the voices of yOUDg people impacted by domestic violen￿. The
project's outcomes were also shared with elected TepTeselltstives at Storniont
Febrnary 2024: Tinderbox collaboEated with AIKEN PR and Electric Ireland for Game Play, a production exploring
resilience and the positive impact of teamwork on teenage girls. The play, infornied by research from Eleclric Ireland's
Game Chongers campaign. w35 performed at the Ulsler Museum for schoolgiIls and sports professionals.
March 2024,. The Incubate Network culminated in the Incubator Festival at the MAC. Belfast. Ten theatre-makeTS
showcased WOTk-in-progress. alongside wothshops and tslks addressing critical themes svch as power dym8mics in
tbeatre, self-producittg, and ffftallci81 sustainability for artists.
FLNANCIAL REVIEW
Flnancial positlon
Ftnances are managed on a daily basis by the Creative Producer. The company continues to run all projects Oll tightly
monitored budgets, which all break even.
The charity has set a poli¢y of buildiug reserves to a level that is equivalent to 25Q/• of athninistration overheads. Tbis
policy has been implcm¢nted &5 part of the organisation's risk reduction strategy and would be utilised in the event of a
future shortfall ID funding. The level of utirestricted funds at 31 Mat¢b 2024 is in excess of tbat requiTed by this
policy.

As we look forward to the next tw¢lve months. the trnstees remain con)mitted to ￿lfIllIng our mission to Ignite
creativity. inspir¢ collaboration, and eelebratc the power of live perfonnance. We remain dedicated to fostering
innovative artistic praGtic¢s and creating opportunities for artists, audiences, and participants to ¢ngage deeply with the
creative process.
In 2024, OUT Play Machine Ttaining Programme and HAP School will ¢ontinue to equip artists with the tools to explore
dynamic approaches to theatrc-makiog. ¢ombining tecbnical training with ¢reative methodologies to ellTi¢b their
practice. We will also support the developmeDt of emerging theatre-makers tbrough the IrAcubate NetWOTk. providing
mentorship, resources, and collaborative Oppor￿nIties. This PTogramm¢ will culminate in the Incubator Festival,
offering artists the chance to showcase new work and participate in vital conversation$ 8bout the futsjre of theatre.

Tinderbox continues to play a vital role in sbaping the cultural landscape of Nortbern Ireland and beyond.
