Puryose of Hope Fellowship Newry As detailed in the Hope Fellowship Newry Deeds, the purpose or objects (as it is referred to in the Deeds) are for the benefit of the public and are detailed as follows: To advance the Christian faith (religion) in accordance with the Statement of Beliefs in such ways and in such parts of Northern Ireland or the world as the Trustees from time to time may think fit, To relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind, including through the provision of counselling and support in such ways and in such parts of Northern Ireland or the world as the Trustees from time to time may think fit, and To advance education in such ways and in such parts of Northern Ireland or the world as the Trustees from time to time may think fit. 2. Trustees, regard to the Commission's Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance. The Trustees would take this opportunity to provide assurance that they are aware of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's statutory guidance as it relates to Public Benefit requirement and that the Trustees make decisions having tsken due regard of the same associated guidance. 3. The Hope Fellowship Newry Deeds also include a 'Statement of Beliefs, for the fellowship. 4. Chairperson's Summary of ActivRty (February 2018 to January 2019) God Encounter Weekend at Glenada Conference Centre in Newcastle successthl residential weekend was held at the end of June 2018. This year the Conference focussed on providing Hope Fellowship members with an opportLmity to minister to those in attendance through preaching the word, sharing testimonies as well as including a time of prayer ministry for healing. The main speakers at the conference in June 2018 were Stephen and Rosemary Davis from the USA. Conference sessions were also delivered by Clifford and Ruth Taylor. The conference supported the fellowship to deliver on public benefit in respect of the advancement of the Christian Faith (religion) and education, as well as the relief of those in need due to ill-health and financial hardship. Trustee Membership During this Annual Reporting period (February 2018 to January 2019) there were no resignations from the Trustees. However, there was a decision taken during this reporting period by Trustees to add two new Trustees. There were no other changes to the Trustees within this Annual Reporting period. As part of a Trustee's meeting on 02 September 2018, the Trustees listened to a presentation in respect of the "Public Benefit Requirement" presented by B Beattie. This presentation allowed the Trustees an opportunity to refresh and update themselves in respect of the Public Benefit Requirements, in keeping with Charity Commission expectations. The infonnation covered during the presentstion was in keeping with the infonnation provided by the Charities Commission on the website. Speakers Rota for Teaching at Bible Time Those attending the Fellowship continued to benefit from preaching of the Word delivered by those members of the Fellowship participating in the preaching rota, as well as regular input from Clifford and Ruth Taylor. This has continued to result in greater variety and richness of teaching. In February 2018 the teachers continued a Study on the topic of "New Creatkon Image" by Dr AL Gill. These teachings contlnued right through until the first week of May 2018. During the period May 2018 to mid January 2019, the teaching focus was on input from D Smethurst via a series of DVD teachings, as well as from S Stinson and C Taylor on a range of topics. Then from mid January 2019, the fellowship commenced a new Bible Study called "Church Triumphant - Through the Book of Acts" by Dr AL Gill. This supported the fellowship to deliver on public benefAt in respect of the advancement of the Christian Faith (religion) and education. Discipleship Training The Discipleship training group continues to meet on Monday mornings to study the subject of Discipleship. The main objective of this group continues to be one of encouraging believers at Hope Fellowship Newry as they continue on their spiritual journey to becoming more like Jesus. The group regularly meets at venues in the community where they take opportunities to minister to others. This supported the fellowship to deliver on public benefit in respect of the advancement of the Christian Faith (religion), education, as well as the relief of those in need due to ill-health. Sunday Morning Testimony Sessions (Monthly) The Sunday morning meetings have continued to incorporate a monthly testimony time. This provides an opportunity for individuals within the fellowship to share the experiences of their journey into deeper relationship with God. The relaxed approach taken has facilitsted and greatly strengthened the sense of love and deepening of Fellowship amongst those attending. During the course of the year, outside speakers attended the group and shared the Word. This supported the fellowship to deliver on public benefit in respect of the advancement of the Christian Faith (religion), education, as well as the relief of those in need due to ill-health. Prayer Group The prayer group continued to meet regularly each week on Thursdays. This provides an opportunity to spend a short time in worship and Intercession for the needs of those associated with the Fellowship and for those the Fellowship come into contsct with, both in the local community and further afield. Support of other Ministries Members of the Hope Fellowship Newry Trustees decided to provide financial support to a number of ministries during this annual reporting period. This included the following ministries: Christians Against Poverty St Vincent de Paul Salvation Arn]y and United Christian Broadcasfrrs This supported the fellowship to deliver on public benefit in respect of the advancement of the Christian Faith (religion), education, as well as the relief of those in need due to ill- health and financial hardship. Financial review Total receipts for the year amounted to £14,825. I)uring the February 2019 to January 2020 period, Hope Fellowship Newry will continue to work to deliver on public benefit in respect of the advancement of the Christian Faith (religion) and education. as well as the relief of those in need due to ill-health and flnancial hardship. This will be supported by: When appropriate, running outreach evenings during the year with visiting outside speakers in order to mknister to the needs of those within the Fellowship and to help meet the needs of the invited Speaker from outside of the Fellowship. This will include actively seeking opportunities to support believers in the area to come together and pray for the spread of the Kingdom in the locality, region and nation. Encouraging Fellowship members to develop their teaching and preaching skills through opportunities for them to join the preaching rota. When preparing their message, members are encouraged to access pre-prepared bible curriculum materials. Teaching on selected Bible Characters to deepen Fellowship members understanding of how God the Father worked in and through their lives. Opportunities will also be identified to share teachings from international preachers by DVD on a limited number of occasions, as well as a focus given to sharing the word from the books of the bible. Providing opportunities to young aspiring preachers. to preach during the year in order for them to develop their preaching skills and for the Fellowship to be enriched by their more youthful approach. Providing opportunities to young musicians, from outside of the Fellowship, to develop their worship leading skills by leading worship at the Fellowship from time to time and for the Fellowship to benefit from their fresh approaches to worship. Continuing to hold the Discipleship study group on Monday mornings to allow the Fellowship to become more effective in terns of the Discipleship movement within and outside of the Fellowship, as well as providing opportunities to benefit the public. Identifying opportunities to wÉden the Fellowship's World mission vision by inviting missionaries from Africa and other countries, to share the needs and challenges of the third world with members of the Fellowship and to see how the Fellowship can support their ministry through prayer and financial support. Organising another God Encounter Conference in June 2019. Speakers and those leading Worship during the conference will once again be a mix of home grown worship and teaching ministries from within the Fellowship, with support from invited speakers from outside of the Fellowship. The objective is to see those attending strengthened and equipped to be confident and effective in ministering to others during their Christian walk. The weekend will also incorporate fun teaching sessions for the children, supported by visiting speakers. The Fellowship will. where appropriate, support individuals to attend the conference. Continuing, as a priority, a regular prayer group to cover in prayer all the activities undertaken by the Fellowship and all the needs of the members, while at the same time providing an opportunity for members to compassionately focus on and pray for the Nation and the World. Actively looking for opportunities to donate where appropriate, to local charities and worthy causes, in keeping with the vision, purpose and objects of the Fellowship.
