The trustees present their Trustees, Report and the unaudited financial statements for the financial year ended 31
December 2023.
The financial statements are prepared in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008, FRS 102 "The
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and Accounting and Reporting by Charities..
Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their financial statements in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102}.
The Trustees, Report contains the information required to be provided in the Trustees, Annual Report under the
statement of Reoommended Pr8Ctice {SORP) guidelines. The trustees of the company are also charity trustees for the
purpose of charity law and under the company's constitution are known as members of the board of trustees.
In this report the trustees of The Saturday Club present a summary of ils purpose, governance. activities. achievements
and finances for the financial financial year 31 December 2023.
The company is a registered charity and hence the report and results are presented in a fonm which complies with the
requirements of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 and. although not obliged to comply with the Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102, the organisation has implemented its
recommendations where relevant in these financial statements.
Mission. Obje¢tives and Strategy
Objectives
The Saturday Club, formed in 2002, provides social and leisure opportunities for children and young people with a
learning disability, and Iheir siblings.
The club enhances the life skills in the children through a range of educational and creative activities, and environmental
and sports aclivilies. The aim of the Club is to provide leisure and social opportunities and lo encourage the personal
and social development of Club members through Ihis range of activities.
Through the clubs activities. the children and young people who attend learn new skills and develop their social skills
and interests. Very importantly attendance at the Club provides respite for parents and carers. The voluntary
management of the Club and ils voluntary leadership and supervision during the Club sessions assists in drawing upon
and developing the talents and skills that each volunteer brings to the Club.
Publi¢ benefits..
The public bènefit of The Saturday Club is.. the development of children and young people with a learning disability by
thè provision of help and support for them through an extensive programme of social and leisure activities that contribule
to their personal and social development.
Whilst doing so. support and respite is provided for their parents and carers. and for the public and wider population.
knowledge of learning disability is also provided. These benefits are demonstrated through the increased Club
membership and with referrals from social services. The feedback from parenlslcarers. sibling5 and the children
themselves is what guides us in our work and we make certain that the Club is benefiting its members through ensuring
they influence the activities the Club lakes part in.
Parent5 are also heavily involved in the committee to guarantee they are well informed of what is happening. Of the
private benefits flowtng from the volunteering, one is that volunteers and trustees are getting excellent experien
through their various roles. this in turn maybe benefitting them in their future or prospective careers.
Through the clubs activities and volunteer support and development. the club raises awareness of leaming disability in
the local area.

Structure
The SatLrrday Club is affiliated to Mencap and their Model Constitution and Model Child Proleclion Policy for Mencap &
Gateway groups in Northem Ireland hav@ been adopted.

Club members took part in a wlde range of activities covering a diverse array of interests including..
Clnema visits: Arts and crafts workshops- clay modelling workshops: sing-a-long music sessions and workshops-
Halloween. Christmas and Easter events,. discos. Bake off competition,. Face painting- visit to activity centre The Jungle.,
and a visit to The Planetarium.

The results for the financial year are sel out on page 7 and additional notes are provided showing income and
expenditure in greater detail
Results and Dividends
Al the end of the financial year the company has assets of £7,38812022 £12.109) and liabilities of £0.00 {2022
£O.00}. The net assets of the company have decreased by £{4,721).

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE SATURDAY CLUB
We have examined the financial slalements of the company for the financial year ended 31 December 2023, which
comprise the Financial Statements and the related notes.
This report is made solely to the company's members, as a body, in accordance with the Charities Act {Northem Ireland)
2008. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile the financial statements that we have been engaged to
compile, report to the Board of Trustees that we have done so, and slate those matters that we have agreed to slate lo
them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume
responsibility to anyone other than the company and the company's members. as a body. for our work. or for this report.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The company's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance wilh the
requirements of the Charities Act {Northem Ireland) 2008. The company's trustees consider that an audit is not required
for this fi'nancial year under the Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008 and that an independenl examination 15 required.
It is our responsibility to:
examine Ihe financial statements under section 65 of the Charftles Act.,
follow the procedures laid down by the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland
under section 65{9){b) of the Charities Act., and
slate whether particular matters have come to our attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
We have examined your company financial statements 8s required under section 65 of the Charities Act and our
examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern
Ireland under section 6519){bl of the Charities Act. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by
the company and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration
of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial slalements and seeking explanations from the trustees conceTning
any such matters. The procedures undettaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and
consequently no opinion is given as lo whether the accounts present a 'true and fair. view and the report is limited lo
those matters set out in the statement below.
In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention which gtves us cause to believe that in, any
material respect..
accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act
the financial statements do not accord with those accounting records
the financial statements have not been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice
applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the FinanGial Reporting Standard applicable in

We have no concerns and have come across no other mallers in connection with the examination to which attention
should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statemenls to be reached.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Saturday Club is a charity incorporated in Northem Ireland. The registered office of the company is 6
Willowmount. Omagh, Co Tyrone. BT79 7EA whi¢h is also the principal pla￿ of business of the company The
financial slalements have been p￿Sented in Pound (£) which is also the functional currency of the company.
SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The following accounting policies have been applied consistently in dealing with items which are considered
material in relation lo the Charity's financial statements.
Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared on the going concem basis under the historical cost convention.

the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP} "Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS

As permilled by the Companies Act 2006. the company has varied Ihe slandard formals in that act for the
Statement of Financial Activities and the Balance Sheet. Departures from the standard formats are to comply
with the ￿qUIrementS of the Charibes SORP and are in compliance with section 4.7. 10.6 and 15.2 of that
SORP.

The financial statements of the company for the financial year ended 31 December 2023 have been prepared
on the going concem basis and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice {SORP)
"Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting
Stsndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102" applying Section 1A of that Standard.
Incomlng Resources
Voluntary income or capital is included in the Statement of Financial Aclivilies when the company is legally
entitled lo it, its financial value can be quantified with reasonable certainty and Ihere is reasonable certainly of
its ultimate receipt. Entitlement to legacie5 15 eonsidered established when the company has been notified of a
distribution to be made by the executors. Income received in advance of due performance under a contract is
accounted for as deferred income until earned. Grants for activities are recognised as income when the related
conditions for legal enlillemenl have been met. All other income is accounted for on an accruals basis.
Résources Expended
All resources expended are accounted for on an accruals basis. Charitable activities include costs of services
and grants. support costs and depreciation on related assets. Costs of generating fvnds similarly include
fundraising aclivilies. Non-staff ¢05ts not attributed to one category of activty are allocated or apportioned pro-
rata to the staffing of the relevant seNice. Finance, HR, IT and administrative staff costs are directly attributable
lo individual activities by objective. Governance costs are those associated with constitutional and statutory
requirements.
Cash at bank and in hand
Cash at bank and in hand comprises cash on deposit at banks requiring less than three months nolice of
withdrawal.
Taxation and deferred taxation
No current or deferred taxation arises as the company has been granted charilable exemption. Irrecoverable
valued added tax is expensed as inGurred.
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed al the balance
sheet date where transactions or events have occurred at that date that will result in an obligation to pay more
lax in the future, or a right to pay less tax in the future. Timing differences are temporary differences between
the company's taxable profits and its results as slated in the financial statements.
Deferred lax is measured on an undiscounted basis at the tax rates that are anticipated to apply in the periods
in which the liming differences are expected to reverse. based on tax rates and laws that have been enacted or
substantively enacted by the balance sheet dale.
