The trustees present their Trustees. Report and the unaudited financial statements for the financial year ended 31
December 2022.
The financial stalernenls are prepared in accordance with the Charities Act {Northern Ireland) 2008. FRS 102 'The
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and Accounling and Reporting by Charities:
statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their financial ststements in a¢¢ordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 1021.
The Trustees, Report contains the infom)8tion required to be provided in the Trustees, Annual Report under the
Statement of Recommended Practice ISORP) guidelines. The trustees of the company are also charity Injstees for the
purpose of charity law and under the company's constitution are known as members of the board of trustees.
In this report the trustees of The Saturday Club present a summary of its purpose, governance, activities, achievements
and finances for the financial financial year 31 December 2022.
The company is a registered charity and hence the report and results are presented in a fomi which complies with Ihe
requirements of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 and, although not obliged to comply with the Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102, the organisation has implemented its
recommendations where relevant in these financial statements.
Mlssion, Objectives and Strategy
Objectives
The Saturday Club. formed in 2002, provides social and leisure opportunities for children and young people with
learning disability, and their siblings.
The club enhances the life skills in the children through a range of educational and creative aclivilies, and environmental
and sports activities. The aim of the Club is to provide leisure and social opportunities and to encourage the personal
and social development of Club members through this range of activities.
Through the clubs aclivilies, the children and young people who attend learn new skills and develop their social skills
and interests. Very importantly attendance at the Club provides respite for parents and carers. The voluntary
management of the Club and its voluntary leadership and supetvision during the Club sessions assists in drawing upon
and developing the talents and skills that each volunteer brings to the Club.
Public benefits..
The public benefit of The Saturday Club is.. the development of children and young people with a learning disability by
the provision of help and support for them through an extensive programme of social and leisure activities that contribut8
lo their personal and social development.
Whilst doing so, support and respite is provided for their pa￿ntS and carers, and for the public and wider population,
knowledge of leaming disability is also provided. These benefits are demonstrated through Ihe increased Club
membership and wth refe￿al$ from 50cial services. The feedback from parentslcarers. siblings and the children
themselves is what guides us in our work and we make certain that the Club is benefiting ils members through ensuring
they influence the activities Ihe Club lakes part in.
Parents are also heavily involved in the committee to guarantee they are well informed of what is happening. Of Ihe
private benefits floTMng from the volunteering. one is that volunteers and Iru5tees are getting excellent experience
through their various roles, this in lurn maybe benefitting them in their future or prospective careers.
Through the clubs activities and volunteer support and development, the club raises awareness of learning disability in
the loGal area.

Structure
The Saturday Club is affiliated lo Mencap and their Model Constitution and Model Child Protection Policy for Mencap &
Gateway groups in Northern Ireland have been adopted.

Review of Actlvltles, A¢hievements and Perfomiance
Once again The Saturday Club was somewhat impacted by the Covid restrictions at different times Ihroughoul the year.
the children were at times restricted from meeting face to face, and on-line activities again took place such as Magic
and Dance videos. These were delivered using Zoom and YouTube plalfom)s.
When il was possible to meet the Club provided for a diverse array of activities including.. Arts & Crafts., Physical &
Mental Wellbeing workshops for parents; Easter event at Glenpark Estate,. Foolball coaching,. Face painting,. Cupcake
Decorating., Visits to Tropical World & Arena 7- Halloween al Glenpark Estate., Balloon live talent show- Trip to Todd's
Leap Centre,. Football training-, and clay modelling workshop.
Flnancial Review
The results for Ihe financial year are set out on page 7 and additional notes are provided showing income and
expenditure in greater detail.
Results and Dividends
At the end of the financial year the company has assets of £12,10912021- £13,101) and liabilities of £0.00 (2021- £9).
The net assels of the company have decreased by £(983).
Reference and Administrative details
The present committee members are aware of the Commission's public benefit requirement statutory guidance. Due to
Covid, the Annual General Meeting was postponed and the committee remained the same as for the previous year=
