Trustees, Annual Report (Incorporating the Dirertor's Report)
The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of the
company for the 01 January 201 to 31 December 2020. The Trustees confirm that the Annual
Report and financial statements of the company comply with the current statutory
requirements, the requirements of the company's governing document and the provisions of
the Statement of Recommended Practices ISORP}, applicable to charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective l January 20151 as amended by Update Bulletin I
(effective l January 20151.
Since the company qualifies as small under section 383, the strategic report required of
medium and large companies under The Companies Att 2016 (Strategic Report and Director's
Report) Regualtion5 2013 is not required.
Strurture, Governance and Trustees
Glenclare community Group is registered as a charity with the Charity Commission for
Northern Ireland, was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in Northern Ireland,
registration number N1613833.
Chalrs Annual Report
Glenclare, like all other groups and organisations. did not expert to be still in the middle of the
Covid pandemic and its restrictions 12 months on from the first lockdown. Disappointing
though it has been not to have the hall up and running with its wide and varied range of
activities, we must remember the devastating impact Covid has had on lives and livelihoods in
our community and across the world. Financially Covid's impart on Glenclare has been equally
severe with practically no income over past 15 months. Utility bills, insurance. etc. still needed
to be paid and the general upkeep of the hall means that we in a much le55 financially secure
position than in previous years. That said however I remain confident that Glenclare
Community Group will bounce back post Covid 19 to be a vibrant self-sustaining and vital hub
to the communitv.
On a more positive note. the past year saw the installation of the new waste water system.
With grant aid from the White Mountain. this £22,000 projert will now see the hall comply
with environmental standards for years to come. I would like to thank the contractor J. Wilson
of N.1. Sewage for speedy installation and advice during the work.
An unfortunate and unforeseen consequence of the closure of the hall during the crisis was
the swelling and cupping of the main floor due to damp and the lack of heating over the
winter period. This it has been remedied with the heating being put on twice a day and the
hall being aerated as frequently as possible. I would like to thank Kevin Mulholland for his help
in solving this matter.
With grant aid from Lisburn and Castlereagh Council and DAERA, we were able to replace
ageing but vital equipment. Thi5 included a fridge. a freezer. laser printer, and electrical pans
for cooking classes. The Community Support Grant from the council helps significantly to pay
for oil, electricity, gas and insurance for the hall. I would like to thank them for their continued
support.

Though for most of the past year Glenclare Community Group was in lockdown a small but
welcome number of events were able to proceed when restrictions allowed particularly during
the summer and autumn months.
Volunteers and Dirertors attended a number of (Zoom) courses during the year which looked
at good governance and effective management of charity orEani5ations as well as course5 on
Health and Safety.
We were able to acknowledge the contribution ourvolunteers make to Glenclare when with
the help of Covid Recovery programme. All volunteers received a Yreat BO￿ and a variety of
seeds to plant during the spring.
Though the attivities were severely. the hall Still needed to be adrnini5tered and maintained.
Yet again we are indebted to our administrator. Margaret Bradley and our caretaker Charles
Magee who carry out their duties to the highest standard.
I would like to thank all the Dirertors for their work and help during this most unusual year. I
hope that incoming year sees Glenclare return to the dynamic and essential resource that it
has been in the past to the community on the Eastern shores of Lough Neagh.
Going Concern
After making appropraite enquiries. the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the
company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseable
future. For this reason they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the
financial statements. Further details reoarding the adoption of the going concern basis can be
found in the Accounting Policies.
Flnancial Review
The results for the year ended 31 December 2020 are set out on pages 8 and 9 of the financial
statements.
The total income for the year ended 31 December 2020 amounted to £20,63412019: £44,955).
The total expenditure was £29.758 {2019: £32.299)
The Trustees consider that the unrestrirted funds of the charity is sufTicient and adequate to
fulfil their obligations. The charity held £8,415 reserves at the year end12019= £19.270}.
Reserves Policy
The income of the Company is considered adequate and the risks associated with any
significant reduction in income is regarded as unlikely. The Trustees are satisfied with the
current level of reserves at the present time. The Trustees are reviewing the Reserves Policy in
the current year.

Trustees, responsibilities Statement
The Trustees (who are also directors of Glenclare Community Group for the purposes of
company law) are responsible for preparing the Trustees, report and the financial statements
in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting standard (United Kingdom
Generally Accepted Accountin8 Practice).
Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year.
Under company law the Trustees must not approve the financial statements unless they are
satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company
and of the income resources and application of resources, including the income and
expenditue of the charitable company for that period. In preparing these financial
statements. the Trustees are required to:
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them conslstently
observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP;
make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent-
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is
inappropriate to presume that the charitable company will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to
show and explain the charitable company's transartion and disclose with reasonable accuracy
at any time the financial position of the charitable company and the enable them to ensure
that the financial statements comply with the Companie5 Act 2016. They are also responsible
for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and hence for taking reawnable steps
for the prevention and detettion of fraud and other irregularities.
