A meeting of Annahoe Historical, Cultural & Sports Society was held on Saturday 26 February 2025 at 8pm in the premises of Annahoe Credit Union Ltd.
Those present were the Chairman, Trevor Lockhart, Vice Chairman, Jim Patton , Treasurer, Joan Cardwell, Heather Colbert, secretary and Ivan Duff.
The chairman welcomed all present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed as being correct.
The chairman reflected on the success of the events held over the past year.
The purpose of this meeting was to make arrange to for a number of events to take place during the year of 2025.
It was agreed we seek funding (under the community festivals) for the 12th July celebrations to be held this year in Aughnacloy. This was left with Trevor to progress.
Trevor reported that Grand Lodge were planning to organise another ‘Joyful Noise’ event to be held in The Ulster Hall later in the year ... possibly mid September. It was agreed we would attend this in principle and make travel arrangements and sort tickets and publicity when more detail became known.
It was further agreed to arrange the District Quiz to be held on Tuesday 8th November 2025. It was agreed we obtain the refreshment from The Diamond Bakery, Aughnacloy.
Trevor also intimated that County Tyrone Grand Orange Lodge had asked each District Lodge to arrange an inter District event. He suggested we could possibly arrange a clay pigeon competition around September / October ... subject to interest.
As this meeting was also the AGM, the chairman declared all positions vacant and called on Ivan Duff to conduct the election of officers. Jim Patton proposed that Trevor Lockhart be re-elected as Chairman and this was seconded by Heather Colbert
Joan Cardwell proposed that Jim Patton be re-elected as Vice Chairman and this was seconded by Trevor Lockhart.
Jim Patton proposed that Joan Cardwell be re-elected as treasurer and Heather Colbert as secretary and this was seconded by Trevor Lockhart.
That being all the business, the chairman closed the meeting.
