a) to advance education and increase knowledge and appreciation of the art and heritage of storytelling in the Causeway area b) to revive the interest among storytellers and the general public in the once rich cultural and traditional heritage of storytelling c) to increase the skills and confidence of storytellers to enable them to continue with their presentation of stories d) to provide opportunities for storytellers, both professional and amateur, as well as the general public, to come together to share their knowledge and skills and to increase enjoyment and appreciation in the sharing of stories e) to establish a firm group of storytellers and to develop their confidence and skills f) to bring together people of differing cultural backgrounds, especially older members of the community and those in isolated areas, to foster greater understanding, reduce racism and rural isolation.
