Overall, we are a fundraising organisation but an important part of our role is also strengthening and encouraging the home/school relationship, where teachers and parents work together to support and enhance the education of our children.

Constitution

Our governing document is the constitution which was adopted on 25 November 2014 .

Objectives and Purpose

The purpose of the Friends group is to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by:

The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community.

This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support.

This purpose does not lead to harm.

The benefit is for children at St Patrick’s Primary school.

Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community.

This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding.

Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

The committee and members meet during the year to manage the affairs of the Friends group and to discuss and organise fundraising events.

The trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public benefit requirement statutory guidance.

-There was £5080 in the bank at the year end.

Future Plans

The Friends group would like to revisit our fundraising aims and objectives in light of the covid19 pandemic and in collaboration with the school organise activities as suitable. We would like to build on the success of the after schools activities and continue to try and fund a range of activities to suit the interests of all pupils, their families and the wider community.

The Friends group would also like to contribute to enhancements to the school grounds and money in the bank at the year end will go towards outdoor storage and equipment.

The Committee would like to express their thanks to all members of the group, all school staff and all parents who continue to contribute and support their fundraising attempts. It is very much appreciated.
