The maln thrust of the w(Jrk Is to enable local resldents. ralse awareness, promote new
opportunities and glve the cornmun5ty a collertlve base from whlch to proactlvely address
their concerns. The Network aim to help people both young and old that have been
excluded from Ilfe chances to Ilve fuller lives and particlpate In thelr communlty. The target
client groupls the most mar8inalised and socially disadvantaged resldents especlalSy the
elderly• youth who han8 about the street corner5, unemployed, chlldren from low Income
famllles. resldents suffering frorn PODr health and lone parents who are flndlng It dlfficult
to manage on thelr own and who feel isolated within thelr homes. Slnce March 2CQ4, the
8roup have secured premlses from thè h(￿s[n& assoclatlon 'Apex Hou51nl and have
refurblshed the premises by creatlng a communal kltchen, a large meetlnpJtralnlnyJactlvlry
room and office accommgdation. Over the past two years we have set up a range of servlces,
activitie5 and prograrnmes for residents of all ages wlthln our locality. The prograrnme of
activltles Is always flexible enou8h so to allow for Innovatlve prDP05als and the dlfferent
need5 of dlfferent residents. Resident5 have the opportunltyto meet new frlend5, learn
new skills, houslng advlce, take up local accesslble tralnln8 and educational programrnes
and posltlve parentln& healthy eatln8, peer education, youth divèrslonary projects. youth
lub twice weeklyi parent & toddler 8roup• communlty art project & environmental dean
up campaigns. In addltlon, the hope to enable individuals to achieve personal competencies
such as self-confidence, communication ski115, independent thought and listenin8 skills.

residents of all aees living within the Cornshell Area. A prlvate benefit may arlse to
committee member5 who may from tlme to tlme avall of training programmes in matters
such as eovernance, but thls Is necessary for professlonal standards to be malntsined to
carry out the work of Cornshell Communlty Network and ensure the benefit 15 provided to
our beneficiarie&

The members are responslble lor preparing the annual report and the Itnandal statements In
accordance wlth appllcable law and Unlted Klngdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.
The law appllcable to charitie5 In Northern Ireland require5 the members to prepare the
flnanclal statements that glve a trve and falr vlew of the stste of affalrs of the charlty at the
end of the flnanclal year and of Its surplus or deflclt for the flnanclal year. In dolns so the
