The maln thrust of the work Is to enable local resldents. ralse awareness. promote new
opportunltles and 8ive the wmmunlty a coljectlve base from whlch to proactlvely address
thelr con￿rn$. The Metwork alrn to help people both young and old that have been
exduded from Ilfe chances to live fulkr lives and partlclpate In thelr communlty. The target
cllent group15 the most rnarginalised and sodally disadvanta8ed residents espe¢lally the
elderly. youth who hang about the street corne￿. unemployed, chlldren from low Income
famllles, resldents sufferln8 from poor health and lone parents who are findlng It dlfflcult
to manage on thelr own and who feel Isolated wlthln thelr h¢)me5. Slnce March 2004, the
8roup have secured premlses fr4)m the housing association 'Apex Houslnrf and have
refurblshed the premlse5 by creating a communal kltchen, a largo MeetIn￿traIn1n￿act1Vlty
room and Offi￿ accommodation. Over the past two years we have set up 3 range of servlces,
activities and programmes for residents of all ages within our locallty. The programme of
actlvltles Is alwavs flexible enough so to allow for Innovatlve proposals and the dlfferent
r￿d5 of dlfferent resldents. Resldents have the opportunity to meet new frlend5, learn
new skills, housln8 advlce, take up local acce55ible trainln8 and educatlonal pro8ramme5
and p051tNe parentln& healthy eatln81 peer educatloni youth diversionary projects, youth
club twice weeklyi parent & toddler groupi comrnunity art project & envlronmentsl cleart
up campalgns. In addltlon, the hope to enable indlvlduals to achieve personal compètencles
such a5 self-confldence, communicatlon skllls, Independent thought and listenln8 skills.

increased numbers of volunteers and volunteering opportunitles. feedback from volunteers

such as governance, but thls Is necessary for professlonal 5tsndard5 to be maintained to
cafry Out the work of Cornshell Communlty Network and ensure the beneflt Is provlded to
our beneflclarles.

The members have assessed the major risks to which the or8antsatlon Is exposed, In
partlcular those related to the operatlonsand flnancts ¢f the assoclatlon. and are satlsfied
that systems are In place to mltigate the exposure to the Major risks.
