Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
●The charity held religious services on a weekly
basis, both in person and virtually. These services
provided spiritual, emotional and mental wellbeing
benefits for participants, both in person and online.
●The charity ran a weekly youth club for young people
aged 12 – 18 years, providing a safe environment for
them to socialise and to learn new skills. Notable
achievements in this year for the youth club were:
oA social action project resulting in the
production of an 8-episode talkshow series
titled ‘Teens Talk’, where the youth chose
and researched topics of importance to them
and produced a talkshow where they
discussed these topics with a panel of
speakers in front of a live audience.
oThe youth designed and produced posters
raising awareness on topical issues such as
vapingand mental health. Theseposters
were distributed to secondary schools across
NI to use as resources. They also produced
and distributed ‘jars of love’, containing a
month’s
worth
of
inspirational
and
encouraging
messages,
which
were
distributed to recipients in the community,
including care homes and schools.
oThe youth club was featured on the BBC
Children in Need broadcast in Nov 2023 for
its successful social action project.
oMembers of the youth club were invited to
Downing Street in early 2024 as one of 2
youth groups representing NI at a roundtable
discussion.
The charity continued to run the weekly food bank,
providing free food and essential sanitary items for
individuals and families on a weekly basis. Circa
1,560 grocery packs were given out this year.

Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
The income for this period was £269,924, a 13% increase
from the previous year. The previous year had seen a
greater increase due to donations to the building fund and
receipt of major grant funding for our community projects.
The expenditure was £190,272, a 53% increase from the
previous year. This was as a result of increased overhead
costs such as rent and utilities, increased need for welfare
support to relieve hardship for individuals and families, and
the increased costs of running our community services.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Since the charity relies largely on its members’ donations,
reserves are held to ensure the charity has sufficient funds
to meet its obligations and provide services to the public.
The amount held as reserves therefore is intended to
cover the charity’s major outgoings for a 3-month period,
namely:

Rent 7 Utilities

Salaries

Insurances
The charity is also raising funds towards acquiring a
building that will serve as its permanent base. The amount
of £277,874 is held in savings for that purpose.
Amount of reserves held £15,000
