WOODBURN PRE-SCHOOL PLAYGROUP
ANNUAL REPORT
The playgroup was allocated 17 D.E.N.I places, and 6 pre-pre-school
children have been admitted so far.
A total of £736 was raised through our 'Reindeer' f und raiser held in
December 2020.
The playgroup was successf ul in our application to St. James's Place
Foundation, and we received £2500 to go towards rent. We were also
successf ul in our application to Carrickf ergus Literacy & Scientif ic
Society (Union Hall) Trust f und and received the sum of £994.06 to
purchase equipment to help children develop skills and concepts related to
the world around them. We received £10,515.50 f rom Education Restart,
£4,675 f rom Early Years Recovery Fund, and £1,338.00 f rom Childcare
Sustainability f unding through Early Years. The money allowed us to
purchase PPE, cleaning equipment and a range of equipment and f urniture
f or both indoors and outdoors. We received the sum of £1500 f rom the
Education board to purchase ICT equipment. We have received £385 to
purchase equipment f or the 'Getting Ready to Learn, programme and we
have applied to En9age 11 f unding Programme through the Education
Board f or f undin9 to support children's emotional and social wellbeing.
Due to COWID-19 we were not permitted to bring visitors into the setting
or take the children out on outings during September 2020 to June 2021,
however, in the school term commencing September 2021 we are allowed
to bring visitors into the setting. Visitors planned to come into the
setting include an Af rican Drumming, dance, and workshop, Wee Critters
and Mr. Hullaballoo. We plan to take the children on a visit to
Carrickf ergus Castle in February and to visit the Ulster Folk Museum in
June.
