The trustees present the Annual Report and Statements of Receipts and Payments and Assets and Liabilities
for Cary & Dunluce Masonic Chaity Commtttee for the year ended 31" December 2023.
Objeclives and Activities
The principal function of the Cary & Dunluce Masonic Chanty Committee is to raise funds through the various
Masonic organisations situated within its District. It does so by promoting the benefits of fundraising to the
Lodges. assisting them with collecting inf0m￿tIOn about potential beneficiaries. idenlifying other sources of
Income for those beneficiaries, such as rate rebates or other forn￿ of Income support. It does this through
dedicated individuals wrthin each Lodge. Potential beneficiaries are idenlified by the Tespective lodge and
application forms completed and forwar(led to the Distrrt Provincial Officer for ￿vIeW. The forms are then
collated and forwarded to the respective fund. The COMMfft￿ receives all funds raised by the lodge, collates,
claims tax relief and distributes to respective Masonic Funds for dtstribution to beneficiaries.
Relieve p)verty amongst ￿dowS of Freemasons, ￿latIVeS of Freemasons or Freemasons who are expenencing
financial hardship and who were or are subscribing Members of Lodges within the Cary & Dunluce District as
defined by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Antrim.
At its discretion. The Chanty colnmitt￿ can provide financial assistance for other exclusively charrtable
purposes as defined in the Charities Act {Northem Irelandl 2008.
Achievements. Perfomiance & Public Benefft
The Committ￿, through rts restEthve lodges and with public supwrt. raised funds totaling £3.485 (less expenses
of £1,215) by holding a fundraising Charty Brealrfast on the 18th November 2023 at BushftM)t GO￿ Club,
Portballintrae. The funds raised were divided equally £1.150 each to:

ii) Angel Wtshes.
Through the Committee Lodges within Cary & Dunluce raised a total of £4.017 for the following charities:
All the aforementioned are non-masonic charities.
It should be noted that the ￿oUntS are wepared on a receipts and payments basis. and therefore some
amounts will not be reflected in 2023 accounts due to banking timings.
Financial Review
The Committee received £14,204 in Gift Aid contributions and £1,119 in Non-Gift Aid contributions and
claimed £3.552 from HMRC by way of Grft Aid refund for the year. The Committee distributed £18.391 to
six Masonic Charities. the main recipient of which was the VKtoria Jubilee Benevolent & Welfare Fund.
The Committee intends to distribute as much of its receipts as possible less expenses. It is not intending to
levy any costs on Lodges for administration as it has sufficient funds within its Committee Account to meet
those costs for the foreseeable future.
Going Concern
The trustees have reviewed the l)udgets for the year ahead and are satisfied that the￿ a￿ adequate funds in
place to ensure that the Committee can continue its activities and the financial statements for the year ended
2023 can be signed off as a going concern.

Governing Document and Constitution of the Charty
The Cary & Dunluce Masonic Charty Commrtiee is govemed by the Constitution and Rules as amended and
adopted at a meeting held on the 3° day of February 2016 at the Masonic Hall. Main Street, Bushmills and last
amended on the &h day of March 2018.

The Charty Committee does not pay or ￿MUnerate anyTrustee or member of the Committee.
Organisational Structure
The governance. strategy. management, and administration of The Charity Committee is the responsibilty of
Board of Trustees elected in accordance with the consttution to act as trustees of the funds of The Charity
Committee. The Committ& meets four times per year and on any other occasion deemed necessary by the
Board of Trustees.
Compliance with Public Benefrt
The Charity Committee has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland's
guidance on public benefft to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve
the Charity Committee's objectives and activities, as well as providing public benefrt.
Statement ofTrustees' ReSpOr￿1b1l1tieS
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the statement of ￿eiptS and payments
and statement of assets and liabilities in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
The law applicable to charities in Northem Ireland with IncorrE less than £250,000 requires the trustees to
prepare a statement of receipts and payrrents and a statement of assetsand liabilities for each financial year.
The trustees are responsible for k￿pIng accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the
Commrttee's transactions and disdose with reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and liabilities of the
Charity. They are aSs0 responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable
steps for the prevention of fraud and other irregularities.
