The trustees p￿sent the Annual Report and Statements of Receipts and Payments and Assets and Liabilities
for Cary & Dunluce Masonic Charlty Committee for the year ended 31 December 2019.
Objectlves and Activities
The prlnclpal funttion of the Cary & Dunluce Masonic Charity Committee is to raise funds through the varfous
Masonic organisations situated within its District. It does so by promotlng the benefits of fundrai5in8 to the
Lodges, assisting them with collecting information about potential beneficlarles, identlfying other sources of
Income for those beneficiaries, such as rate rebates or other forms of Income support. It does this through
dedicated Indlvldua15 wlthin each Lodge. Potential beneficiaries are identified by the respectlve lodge and
application forms completed and forwarded to the Distrirt Provincial Offlcer for review. They are then
collated and forwarded to the re5pertive fund. The Committee recelves all funds ralsed by the k)d8e, collates,
claims tax relief and distributes to ￿SpertIVe Masonic Funds for distribution to beneficiaries.
Relleve poverty amongst widows of Freemasons, relatives of Freemasons or Freemasons who are experiencin8
flnancial hardship and who were or are subscribing Members of Lodges wlthln the Cary & Dunluce District as
defined by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Antrlm.
At Its dlscretlon. The Charity Committee can provide financial asslstsnce for other excluslvely charltable
purposes as deflned In the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2LKI8.
Achlevements. Performance & Publlc Benefft
The Committee through Its respective lodges and wlth publlc support, ralsed funds totalling £3,537.00 (less
expenses of £1,137.00) by holdln8 a fundralslng Charlty Breakfast on the 9.11.2018 at Magherabouy House
Hotel. Portrush. The funds ralsed were dlvlded equally l£l,ICrf).00 each) to:
11 Slmon OsborneAlrAmbulance
and
111 Downs syndrome.
The Commlttee also through its respective lodges donated £5,CIXI.CQ to the Boom Foundation, £150.00 to TLC
and £250.00 to the Gateway Club
All of the aforementioned are non-masonlc charltles.
Flnanclal Revlew
The Committee received £12,817 in Gift Aid contributions and £2,100 in Non-Gift Aid contributions
and claimed £3,21S from HMRC by way of Gift Aid refund for the year. The Commlttee dlstrlbuted
£19,794 to four Masonic Charities, the main recipient of which was the Victoria Jubilee Masonlc
Benevolent Fund.
The Committee intends to dlstrlbute a5 much of Its recelpts as posslble less expenses. It Is not
Intending to levy any costs on Lodges for administration as it has sufficient funds within Its Commlttee
Account to meet those costs for the foreseeable future.
Goln8 Concern
The trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead. and are satisf￿1 that there are adequate funds in
place to ensure that the Committee can continue Its activitres and the financial Statements for the year ended
2019 can be slgned off as a 80in8 concern.

The Cary & Dunluce Masonic Charity Commlttee is govemed by the Constitution and Rules as amended and
adopted at a meeting held on the 3 day of February 2016 at the Masonic Hall, Main Street. Bu5hmills and last
amended on the 8 day of March 2018.
Recruitment and Appointment of Committee Members (Trustees)
In accordance with the Constitution and Rules the members as defined In that Constltutlon appolnt annually

The Charity Committee does not pay or remunerate any Trustee or member of the Commlttee.
Organl&itlonal Structure
The 8overnance. strategy, management and admlnistration of The Charlty Commlttee Is the responslbillty of a
Board of Trustees elected In accordance with the constltution to act as trustees of the funds of The Charlty
Commlttee. The Committee meet four tlmes per year and on any other occaslon deemed necessary by the
Board of Trustees.
Compllance wlth Publlc 8enefit
The Charity Commlttee has glven careful consideration to the Charlty Commlssion for Northern Ireland's
8uldance on publlc benefit to ensure that the attlvltles entered Into durln8 the year have helped to achieve

The trustees are responslble for preparln8 the Trustees, Report and the statement of ￿￿Ipts and payments
and statement of assets and liabilities In accordance with applicable law and regulations.
The law applicable to charities In Northern Ireland wlth Income less than £250.OCiI requires the trustees to
prepare a statement of re￿Ipts and payments and a ststement of assets and liabilitles for each financlal year.
The trustees are responsible for keeplng accountlr6 records that are 5ufflctent to show and explain the
Committee's transactlons and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and liabllities of the
Charity. They are also responsible for safe8uarding the assets of the Charity and hence for takin8 reasonable
steps for the prevention of fraud and other irregularities.
