During the year ending 31 August 2024, the band continued to pursue its aim
of promoting brass band music to fulfil its public benefit obligations.
Band practices weekly throughout the year, new musical pieces have been
studied and practised, which has further advanced the ability and skills of band
members and added to our repertoire for playing at public events. Band
instruments continue to be kept in good repair. The band committee is pleased
that some members have successfully moved across the difference sections to
keep the balance in the various sections and the band has gained a young
addition to the band's percussion section.
The band took part in an extensive range of events including concerts, church
services, parades and performed for charitable organisations. The band
appreciates the support it continues to receive from these organisations and
the wider public. Any donations received for such engagements are voluntary.
These events give the general public the opportunity to listen to, and
appreciate the wide repertoire of brass band music, helping to improve both
the cultural and social wellbeing of those who attend.
Annual accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Band
Constitution, and examined by a qualified person as required as required by
the Charities Commission Northern Ireland.
