The All Saints’ Caring Association carries out a programme of events that endeavours to provide support to the local neighbourhoods and further afield. The Association works independently and in conjunction with the All Saints’ Church of Ireland, Londonderry in delivering programmes which will enhance the lives of local people and those further afield.

Summary of the main activities of the Charity to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements of the year:

*Bowling Club – This group meet on Monday and Thursday evenings and have a mixed age profile.

*Guiding Groups – Rainbows, Brownies and Guides met on a Wednesday evening and followed the Guiding programme of activities.

*Scout Groups – Beavers, Cubs and Scouts met non a Tuesday evening and followed the Scout programme of activities.

*Senior Citizen Activities – monthly Communion Services and Afternoon Tea Dances allowed Senior Citizens to meet and have friendship together.

Activities and Meetings* – The Association facilitated activities and meetings for a range of local bodies which enabled cross community interaction. These included the Woman’s Centre Groups, Neighbourhood watch, Sparkle Haven, City of Derry Bowling Club and Outdoor bowling club.**

*Line Dancing – A Cross community line dancing group which met regularly on a Tuesday evening.

*ASCA facilitated events held by the All Saints’ Church which included Vestry meetings, Pastural Care meetings, Sunday School, Bible Studies, Prayer Breakfast and Confirmation Groups

*Knit and Knatter Group – Meets regularly on Tuesday afternoon and provided social interaction for its members.

*Little Saints’ Parent and Toddler Group – Opened in September 2022 after the Covid Pandemic. This group meets regularly on a Tuesday morning providing valuable social interaction for parents and toddlers.

No private benefit is gained by anyone.

No trustee receives any remuneration, reward or private benefit for carrying out their trustee responsibilities.

The trustees ensure that the appropriate Health and Safety procedures are in place and that Access NI checks are carried out for anyone working with children. There is no harm flowing from the charity’s purposes.

Assets and Liabilities : The All Saints’ Caring Association currently holds only one asset: The All Saints Centre valued at £750,000. There are no liabilities. Structure, Governance and Management: The Association is an unincorporated association and is governed by a constitution. The Association is run entirely by its voluntary members.

Trustee selection and management :

The Association is managed by an Executive Committee which consists of the appointed trustees. The Executive Committee met typically once per month in the year up to 31st March 2023. At every meeting the minutes of the previous meeting are agreed and the secretary distributes the agenda for meeting. The Hon. Treasurer presents the latest accounts, and these are reviewed against budgets and forecasts; spending is discussed and approved. The treasurer may authorise some spending, between meetings, within set limits but must ensure such spending is reported at the next meeting. The meetings also offer a forum to review recent activities within our programme and to plan forthcoming events. Correspondence and applications for activities received are considered, in addition, members report on any areas of expertise. Further ad hoc meetings are called if required, for example to plan and manage special events or projects. The Annual Report and Statement of Accounts are approved by the trustees and then presented to the members at the Annual General meeting.

Organisational structure Objectives

The objectives of the ASCA as set out in our Constitution are the advancement of education and the provision of facilities for recreation, for social and other leisure activities for the benefit of children and young people, so they can grow to maturity as individuals and members of society and for adults and senior citizens in waterside area of Londonderry and further afield so their lives can be enriched.

Public Benefit Statement The trustees of the All Saints’, Caring Association confirm that they have compiled with their duty under section 17 (5) of the charities Act 2011 to have regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and that the public benefit requirement has informed the activities of the Association. In evaluating the public benefit, the trustees note that the centre is open to all. While we would encourage those with an interest in the community to join us we also strive to make our facilities available to people in the local area. The association operates

predominately in the waterside area of Londonderry however visitors from further afield are always welcome.

Overall Financial position at the end of the year

The overall financial position of the Association is as follows: The annual income was £10,819.95 The annual expenditure was £12,632.32 The trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate funds in place to ensure that the Association can continue its activities and the financial statements for the year ended 31st March 2023 can be signed off as a going concern
