We offerstudent placementsto helpthem achieve their desired goals. Such invotvementstrengthens the publids knowledge about Early Years Foundation stage learning and helps increase conf idence as well a5 encouragethemto put forward opinions/ideas. We maintain an 'outstandinl grade fromThe Education and Training Inspectorate I￿11. This was awarded irb June 2017. This is our most recent inspertion from Ell. The next will be due in 2022. As furtherevidence of how hard our staff work.the ETI reco8nisedthe quality of music in the pre- school. Ourstaff were extremely privileged to present a PowerPoint presentstion on thisat the launch of the chief inspectors ￿pOrt.TheY were one of only two preschoobacross Northern Ireland invited to do thi5. Our charity is paramountto families within the Macosquin area and beyond. Thls is cruclal and beneficialfor families unable to drive and who are within walking distance to our wmrnunity provi55on. We are located in the heart of Macosquinvillage. Bus servlces arevery limlted so without our pre-school provision the public would struggle. Our tharity has worked eXt￿rne￿ hard to achieve and maintain the top grade awarded bythe ETI, We are a progressive establishmentand endeavowtodelrvera servicethat meetsthe needs of our users. Ourstaff are committedto continuing theirown personalprofessionaldevelopment. They undert3ke f urthertrainin6 throu8houtthe year. The staff completed numberstrainingcourse5 throughout 201￿2020. These induded,. autism trainin& introduction to mindfulness & reduan8 anxiety in children. COVID19 awarenesstrainin& food hygiene, fir5taid, fire safety. The 5UPPQrtfrom our parents and local community is essential in helpingour charty develop and improve. Due to COVID 19 our fundraisingeventswere atan all time low. We were On￿able to hold our afternoon tea, fill the smartie tubes and we also done a contsctless weekly bonus ball drawto try and raise much neededfunds. We had hoped tosecure fundingto renovate and improve our outdoor/playgroundspacetopromote aDdenhan￿theexpenenceandoppOrtunityfOrphY5iCal developmentofourchildren. However.wewere unabletoproceedwichanytypeofwork duetothe pandemic.This is our main projertforthe coming year when regulations allow. In January 2018 we launched The Big Bedtime Read projert. We were able to hostthis project for a second consecutNe year. This has been an excellentway of promoting readingtogetherat home and encouraging parentsto take a more attNe role in theirchild's early edu(ation. The children thoroughwenjoythisevening at the pre-school. We look forwardto continuing this valuable scheme in the coming year5.

We are still registered wf(h a fareshare stheme where we have been able to workalongside two local supemiarkets, helpingthem reduce theirfood wastage aswell as enabling us to provide hea￿hY snacksfor our children.This s of no cost to the pre-school. This has allowed us to redirect money from petty cash back in to avadable fundsforthe pre-school. We plan to continue with this scheme forthe foreseeable. We are very pleasedthat we have encouraged parentsand familiesto get involved wtth our settlng. This can help increase their confidence, improve theirsooal and emotionalwell-being and it is also a steppingstone onto the social ladderwhith some parentscan veryeasity lose when they have young children. During the year, we have invited fami￿ members tojoin us on our trlp outto the forest, gathering natural materials and exploring new concepts. We would nomally also have a trip to Belfast zoo but unfortunatefy this head unable to go ahead due to COVID 19. We,a5the trustees of Mac05quin community pre-sthooladheretothe commission's public benefit requirements. Thls is a statutory requirement. We ensure thatthe thildren's welfare, learning a experience is paramount andthat we strNe to make a posrcprfe difference toeath indniidual child and theirfafflilies at all times. The pre-school was set up and first registered in 1983. It is setup to provide a positNe service for children aged3-4years old. It is a place where they can learn in a safe and stimulating environment at their own pace. New and existin8families tothe area are benefitin8lrom suth a positive ¢harity. With our monthly commfctee meetings. the leaderof the pre-school alongwith the committee, focus on what has been achieved and whatwe needto plan and focus on forfuture activities. Any monies raised to improve faalities are hi8hli8hted on the charity's Facebook page as well as our monthly newsletters. We believe r( is important to let the public know whatthey have helped us achieve and that theircontributions are helping improve the facilities in which their children are benefittingfrom. We document every meeting and ourminutesare checked annually by Social servSces as part of their inspertion. Our accounts are presented monthtyatthe committee meetings and are discussed. We, as a committee, are always aware that we are a non-profttorganisation and we have to adhere to our reserves policy. Ourreserves polrysupportsthe overall development of the settingand is an integral part of our planning. The reservesensuresthat the setting has adequate funds available for plannin8 forgrowth as well as dealingwtth opportunitiesand potential i55ues which may ?ri5e. The talculation of the required level of resenies is an integral part of plannin& budget and foretastcycle of the settin8. It takes into account: Risks associated wlth each stream of income and expenditure being drfferentfrom whathas been budgeted Planned artivty level Commitmentto beneficiaries (children) We also make sure that we do not overspend andthatourattounts are debtfree. Funds are closely monitored throughoutthe yearand fundraisingeventsare undertaken. Petty cash is agreed bythe committeeat£120 permonth.This moneyis usedto suppleMenthea￿hybreakprOVIded bythe fareshare scheme forthe children as well as helping to purchase any resources required to help us meetthe preschoolcurrtculum.
