2025 CHAIRMANS REPORT
Another year 8one and agaln It has been a pleasure to chair our communlty group and work with
great group of people in our estate and try and do some good in the area .
A5 theyearstarted we began making plans for events flrst up was easter we had our anual egg hunt
and easterparty very well supported by the local community some 30young kids wtth thelr pare nts
in attendance made for a great day sometime after easter we were contacted by a local church
8roupto see if we had any Interest in dolng something together of course we thought it was a good
Idea and the church group organised a BBQto gauge what support they would get the BBQwent
very well and was a success and leftthlngs open for future events with group.
After easter it came time to plan our annual July festival to which we got downhearted when we
were not gfve our usual councll funding it left uswlthout any funds to run any events the feellng In
ourgroup and Indeed other Coleraine groups who all got theirfunding denied was that the money
was spent on the return off the GOLF so the local people had to pay the price and be left out .
Lucky forus wewere In contact wlth Garethfromcoleraine housin8executive whomwe metatinter
agency meetlngs Gareth was able to obtain fundingfor ourjutyeventwhlth meant it could 80 ahead
as usual to whlch the community where very happy about especially the young children I would Ilke
to out here in textourthanks to Gareth and Coleraine H.E for their helpand last Minuit rescue of our
July event whlchwas verysucce55fuland wellsupported by family's from Windyhall and surroundln8
areas includin8 members of the church group.
In Au8USt we met up wlth the church group again at their request to talk about havlng somethlng In
the area to engage with the local people and get some feedback on anything they could do in the
area therewastalk of a senloryouth club so we arranged an end of summerfun day and BBQwhlch
they funded the day was well supported and a senlor youth club Is In the plannln8 Stage for 2026.
Into Septemberand talks for our next events Started but lack of funding would prevent our annual
Halloween party, 50 our focus wentto Chr15tmas wlth what Ilttle money we had we decided to do
mealsfor our elderlyresidents in Decemberthlsturnedinto a bigger event after we were contarted
by the church groupwe workedwlth previouslytheygave us a donation which meant we could scale
up and provlde Christmas dinnerfor all over &Js in Windyhall we invited them down to the
communltycentre and gave a 3 course meal and forthose unable to attend due to health issues we
had thelr meal delivered and In the evenlng we had Christmas music and treats for the klds and of
course a speclal visit from Santa which made a perfect endin8 to a great day whlch was well
attended and we recelved a lot of posltive feedback for especlallythe dinn er.
To finish up id like give huge thanks to ourgroup volunteers who put in the hard work and make
everything possible none of thls woukl happen withoutthem and another huEe thankyou to the
church 8roup for helplng us wlth a donation .
Looking forward now to 2026 and more hard work in the community.
