Another great year supportin8 our communlty I start In January 2024 after a great 2023 and we go
again on plan5 on how we glve to our communlty flrst thls year was easter and we had an easter
party for the children of our area and further afelld thls a very supported event wlth upwards of 30
kids attendin8 our party we had muslc, food and fancy dress With prizes for best dress
This year at our regular meetin85 we dlscussed plans on what we would like to see for the area these
included a fenced off area around the football pitch which has now been cornpleted we also talked
about a bee conservation area with wild flowers and fruit trees although the fenced area has been
completed and well received in the community especially the local football team we would like to
push ahead in the coming year for the conservation area
This year we attended meetings for the inter agency and put across any dlfficultys in the are our
biggest problem being dog foul and we now have a foul bin which is being used and has cut down
dramatically the amount of dog mess on the paths and grass areas .
Following on from the inter agency meetings we had a good conversation with Billy from millburn
community about taking on the management of our community centre a proccess they where going
through themselves this peaked our interest and we look forward to meetin8 With him again and
talking about how it went and see how it would work for us.
Summer and we had our annual July festival over the 2 days we had music by the local flute band a
kids party with bouncy castles and other inflatables we supplied a BBQ and drinks for everyone who
attended which we estimate to be over a hundred people adults and children there was also a
horseshoe competition all went very well and the support from the community was excellent.
August meeting was time to talk about the plans for the rest of the year and next was halloween we
had the a fancy dress party, music and a spooky room decked out with halloween decorations which
was great for the older kids to 80 in and hear the spooky sounds and see the scary decorations
another well attended event.
Durin8 our August, September,October meetin8s we talked about plans for Christmas we had our
annual party for the kids with food, music fancy dress and Santa who came to our purpose built
grotto nearly 40 kids and Over 20 adults where at the party we where very surprlsed at the turnout
its 8etting better every year but thls year we wanted to do somethlng for the pensioners in the area
and we had decided if we could raise enough funds throu8h raffles etc we could buy the old folk in
the area of pension a8e some Christmas meat we after a lot of hard work by our Members we just
managed to achelve our goal and we where able to offer the pensioners a choice of a small turkey
crown or 8ammon{ham) roast which was well recelved by the pensioners in our area and the
feedback made it all worth doln8.
Another busy year for our group who I cant thank enou8h wlthout them and thelr commltment our
