Apostolic work, Down & Connor is an unincorFrf)rated chanty.
The board of Trustees are reswnsible for the strategic management of Ihe charity. Trustees are
responsible for making decisions on matters of day to day running of tho charity, future projects and all
matters of concern to the charity. The Trust*s also make decisions on how funds are allocated and
on bills to be paid.
New trustees are interviewed by the Board of Trustees and then put to the Membership Executive for
approval. The charity ensure new Trustees receive relevant training from th8 President and the board
of Trustees.

The Trustees review Ihe major risks whiGh the Gharity frdces and believe that the policy on reserves, as
stated below provides sufficient resources in the advent of adverse conditions. The trustees examine
business and other operational nsks faced by the chanty and confimi that systems to monitor and
mitigate significant risks are in place.

Objectives and activities
The PLJrpose of the charty is the prevention of and relief of povety, the advancement of religion, {the
finanGial hardship or other disadvantage). Through fundraising activities and donations, we are able to

have funded projects for the relief of poverty, educationltraining, religious activities,

relief, accommodationlhousing, communty development, playgrouplafter schools, volunteer
development and gener21 chantable pur[K￿S.
Main activities
Donations. member subscriptions. Gift Aid. cake sales. coffee momings. Christmas & Easter events,
table quiz, ballots, tombola, bingo tea.
Public benefit
The Trustees have had regard to the Public Benefft Requirements of the Charty Commission.
Achievements and perforniance
We have provided details of all our donation¥ received and missionaries helped. There waa a
reduction of £143,351 in incomes received this year. In the prior year, incomes were higher due to one
off benefactory donations and other increased donations. However. the covid 19 pandemic still
continues to have an impact in reducing donations from parishes in comparison to pre-pandemic
years. This has a direct impact on the amount of expenditure sent to the missions.
Financial review
The ￿sUlts are sct up on pagcs 8 to 16 and show for thc year endcd 30 November 2023, Ap05tolic
Work Down and Conor had a deficit of funds of £98.905. The closing b2nk balance is £287.054.
Reserves

The reserves are part of the charity's unrestricted funds that are freely wiailable to spend on any of the
charity's purposes.
The reseNes policy of the charity is to hold reserves that repre3ent a minimum of three mnths
expenditure of the organisation.
The Statement of Financial Activities shows a net decrease in Unrestricted funds of £98,905 and a
change of restncted ￿ndS of £Nil.
The charity has a total charty fvnds of £475.893 at 30 November 2023.
Plans for future periods
The charity intends to continue to meet its objectives in the future. maintaining the projects it currently
supports.
