Castlerock Senior Citizens Wednesday Club

Our organlsation is a group which supports elderly people over
the age of 60 In the Castlerock area.
We meet in the Peter Thompson Hall, Castlerock every
Wednesday between October and March, and our format is
Indoor bowling followed by tea/coffee and a chat.
During the year we had guest speakers:
l. A Lady giving advice to the elderly, on benefits which they
should clalm and offering to help our people filling in claim
forms.
2. A Guide from The Tower of London, giving a very interesting
talk on history of his 20+ years serving in the anny and then
hls life of 11 years Ilvlng and worklng as a gulde at The Tower
of London.
Our Chrlstmas Lunch 2023 was at The White Horse Inn,
Campsie where 50 members enjoyed a day out with a
beautiful Chrlstmas Lunch.
In Spring Time, we enjoyed a day trip to Sprucefield Shopplng
Complex and on return Journey stopped at the Tullyglass Hotel,
Ballymena for a very enjoyable evenlng meal.
At our Opening meeting in October, we celebrated 45 years of
the Club with a lovely meal in the Castlerock Golf Club followed
by a vislt from the Mayor of Causeway Coast &Glens Borough
Councll, Claran McQulllan In the Peter Thompson Hall. The
Mayor helped to cut the Anniversary Cake along with
Chairperson Jean Caulfield, MBE, Roberta Colhoun our oldest
member and Olive Mccarron the person who has been in the
club the longest.

The purpose of the charity is to promote interests, well being
and alleviate loneliness of the aged living in the Castlerock
area.
