Structure, governance and management The charity is established as a compnay limited by guarantee. The board of directors work closely with a management committee, all of whom ar¢ volunleers with experience in the community development sector. Objeet5 and activiti¢s Th¥ primary airn of rhe Orange Communiry Network is to address the legacy of the 'lroubles' within the Protestant community in Northem Ireland. We aim to build capacity and confidence within the Protestant community which is widely acknowledged as believing itself to have been marginalised as a consequ¢n¢e of the 'Troubles'. OCN'S commitment to challenging attiludes tOH'ards sectariani5ni and encouraging groups froin within the Protestant community towards reconciliation through an understanding of their identity and expereience and equipping them with the ability to engage with the wider community. Achievements and performance The charity did not trade in the period under review as the last grant funding ceased in October 2010. The trustees are keeping the company open with the view to seeking further funding opportunities in the future. Financial review The financial statements show a breakeven situation with a small amount of resources available. Plan5 for future periods As mentioned the last funding project from the Big Lottery Fund ceased in October 2016 and to date no further funding has been secured. The charity trustee's will explore any funding oppnrtunita8 2.8 and when they prese.nt themselves. Events aft¢r the end of reporting period Ther have been no subsequent events between the balance sheet date and the date of these financial statements. Responsibilities gnd basis of report As th¢ trustees of the company (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible foT the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requir¢ments of Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008 (the '2008 Act,) and the Companies Act 2006 ('the 2006 Act.). You are satisfied that the accounts of the company are not required by charity or company law to be audited and have chosen instead to have an independent examination. Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the cotnpany are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are elitsible for independent examinaiion, I report in respect of my examination of the charitys financial statements as carried out under section 65 of the 2008 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed the general directions given by the Charity ComTnission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the 2008 Act. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities accounts in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), the Companies Act 2006 and the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. Income All incoiMing resources are recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities when the conditions for receipt have been met and there is reasonable a55urance of receipt. When an incoming resource relating to a future accounting period is received. the amount is treated as deferred income and it is included within creditors in the balance sheet. Funds Orange Community Network has various types of funds for which it 15 responsible and which require separate disclosure. These are as follows: restricted incorne funds.. income which is eannarked by the donor for specific purposes. Such purposes are within the overall aims ot'the organisation; and unrestricted funds: funds which are expendable at the discretion of the management board in furtherance of the objects of the organisation. In additiOT] to expenditure on education or services, such funds may be held in order to finance capital investinent and working capital. Costs Management and administration costs relate to the costs of running the organisation such as the costs of meetings and accountancy and include any costs which Cat0t be specifically identified to another expendire classification. The directors confirni that they are not aware of any conditions which would result in grant funding being recovered.
