**Purposes:** 3.1	The Organisation is established to advance education, relieve poverty, and to promote the preservation and protection of health among older people aged 50 /55 or over and to promote the benefit of older people in Broughshane and its environs of The Braid Valley (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) and in particular:  (b)	provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for older people;  (c)	raise awareness among the general public of the needs and experiences of older people in the area of benefit.
