The charity's purposes are detailed within the constitution and can be summaries as; l. To relieve in cases of need, hardship or distress, freemasons and the widows and other dependents of deceased freemasons. 2. To provide fmancial assistance to other duly constituted Masonic Charities. 3. To provide financial assistance to any person or body for any "charitable purpose" The Trustees have had regard to the Public benefit guidance issued by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland.

The following donations were made to support the charitable activities conducted by these bodies. Prostrate Cancer UK St Bernadette's Special School Glenmaquin National School N. I. Chest Heart & Stroke Coleraine & District Samaritans Parkinsons Disease Society - Foyle Branch Donegal Hospice Marie Curie Cancer £1,000 1,000 100 £500 £1,000 £750 1,500 £1,300 The results of the charity's activities during the year and of its position at the year end are included in the Receipts and payments account on page 5 and the Statement of assets and liabilities on page 6. The trustees are thankful for the support of the brethren forn]ing the membership of the charity and their guests, through their continued generous donations which are used to further the charity's purposes, which have been detailed above. Independent examiner's report to the cbarity trustees of The Provincial Grand Lodge of Londonderry and Donegal Council of Charity and Welfare We report on the accounts of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Londondery and Donegal Council of Charity and Welfare for the year ended 31 December 2023, which are set out on pages 5 to 6. Respeetive responsibilities of charity trnstees and examiner As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. It is our responsibility to: exarnine th¢ accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Commission under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act state whether particular matters have come to our attention. Basis of independent examiDer's report We have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and our examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act. Our examination included a review of the arxounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters. Our role is to state whether any material matters have come to our attention giving us cause to believe: l. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act 2. That the accounts do not accord with those accounting records 3. That the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act 4. That there is furthcr infonnation needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to b¢ reached.
