Responsibllities of tbe Board of Directors The directors are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements in accordance with the applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice. Accounting convention Tlie principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts. The charity constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRSI 02. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in notes to the accounts and comply with the charity's governing document, the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland published in October 2019 (SORP 2019) and the Companies Act 2006. Tlie financial statements are prepared on a going concem basis under the historical cost convention, modified to included certain items at fair value. The financial statements are presented in sterling which is the functional currency of the charity. Income (i) Grants Grants represents all amounts received and receivable during the year.
