The River Bann and Lough Neagh Association Company Notes to the Financial Statements for the Year Ended 31 October 2022 Derivalivefinancial in.slruments The charity uses derivative financial instruinents to reduce exposure to foreign exchange risk and interest rate movements. The charity does not hold or issue derivative financial instruments for speculative purposes. The resulting gain or Ios5 is recognised in staiemenl of financial activilies immediaiely unless the derivative is designaled and effeclive as a hedging iiistruinenl, in which event the timing of the recog7nilion in statement of financial activities depends on the nature of the hedge relaiionship. Fulr value fftea.suremenl The best evidence of fair value is a quoted price tor an identical assel in an active Inarkel. When quoted prices are unavailable, the price of a recent transaution tor an identical asset provides evidence of fair value as loi)g as there has not been a si¥nificanl change in econoinic circuinsiances or a significant lapse of tiine since the transaction look place. If the market is not aclive and recent trai)sactions of an identical asset on their own are not a good esliinate of fair value. the fair value is estiinated by using a valuation technique. 3 Income from donations And legacies Unrestrleted funds General TotAI funds Donations and legacies; Donatioiis froin individuals Gift aid reclaiined 2,458 173 2,458 173 Total for 2022 2,631 2,631 Total for 2021 8,480 8,480 4 Income from other trading gctivities Unrestricted funds General Total fund5 Trading income; Shop income from sale of donated goods and services Events incoine,.
