Ballyhornan & District Community Association has confirmed we are still trying to get housing with 13 new social housing in the Ballyhornan Area; however this seems to be very close to finalizing

The group have also had confirmed the All Weather Football Pitch has been doing well with football teams using it 7 days a week with weekend matches every week.

We have one full time office member and over 5 part time workers for weekend staff, youth club and arts class.

Events and projects happening throughout the year

Our summer scheme starts tomorrow this runs for 2 weeks. It was booked out for both weeks very quick. The children will go on a trip, different projects and activities will take place.

We have been able to take the kids out that attend the art and crafts class to a trip to Cocos which they really enjoyed.

We have a summer festival on 9[th] August . For the community providing over 7 bouncy castles, BBQ, music, petting zoo, football tournament, face painting, ice cream van magician, bubble football, train rides and much more. This is £2 for adults and children free.

The polytunnel has been a great success to the area. We are currently growing tomatoes, lettuces, onions, pumpkins, chilies, flowers and much more.

We had a crazy bingo night in July which was successful. We got great reviews back and overall it was a great night.

We have planned an old skool night for 15[th] November which we have booked DJ John boy and a saxophone player.

For the Christmas festival this year we are hoping to plan a Christmas tractor run and Santa attending this will take place on sat 13[th] December.

Summary Description of the Purposes of the Charity the Charity’s objects

(“Objects”) are to benefit the inhabitants of Ballyhornan and its environs (the “area of benefit”) without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion and in particular to: - Advance community development for the benefit of the public by all or any of the following means (a) Provide facilities for and promote participation in healthy recreation and organise community and family events in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants; (b) Provide facilities, amenities and support to local community and voluntary groups and organisations; (c) promote village renewal by involving the community in the drafting of Village Plans concerned with improving the economic, housing, social, cultural, health, wellbeing and environmental life of the inhabitants of the area of benefit. (d) Advance active citizenship and volunteering in the community.

How the Organization is constituted The Articles of Association were updated on 23rd February 2016. Public Benefit Requirement. The Trustees have had regard to the Public Benefit Requirement statutory guidance.

Chairperson’s Report The group have been working hard initially over the past 8 years to secure funding for a State of the Art 4G All Weather Pitch, and have successfully achieved this goal with the pitch completed. The Ballyhornan Centre was closed half of the year due to Covid 19. The pitch was just finished before the pandemic; therefore it could not be used. We also have been lobbying for social housing in the Ballyhornan area and hope to be successful very soon. The Centre committee members pride themselves in the on-going projects with the Family Centre. The Centre offers Birthday Party facilities to the community at weekends and we are inundated with

We have a new website which is used for bookings throughout the year. The public can book football, birthday parties, gym, events and much more.
