## **1. Chair’s Report** 

During 2023/24 it was my pleasure to chair the Kingdom of Dalriada Ulster-Scots Society. 

The year continued to focus on recovery after the covid-19 impacting the  work our group was able to complete during the year. . 

I am pleased to say that we obtained all funding requests from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and have been successful in obtaining National Lottery Community Funding to help us deliver activities in 2023/24. 

I wish to  say thank to everyone who has supported our organisation during the year, having attended, volunteered, contributed to any of the organisations activities as we aim to ensure that we bring a public benefit from our organisations existence.

## **2. Music Tuition** 

One of our main public benefits is to provide musical tuition for anyone who is interested in learning a traditional Ulster-Scots instruments regardless of age or ability. All our tutors are chosen based on their expertise and their track record of educating people in their specialist field. 

Music classes did take place during the months with some restrictions during the year. 

During the year, we teach 8 people a range of Ulster-Scots musical instruments. 

## **3. Festival Overview** 

We returned to a full festival in April 23 and we are delighted that it ran well and was extremely well attended.   Estimates of people attending Ballymoney Spring Fair were around 5500.   The 4 day festival was very successful and we are grateful to Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council for their financial support. 

## **4. Other Projects** 

## **a) Culture, Arts and Heritage Project** 

A small number of people took part in the Culture, Arts and Heritage project with 8 people taking part in the project funded by CC&G Council. 

## **5. Management and Community Training** 

During the time period, our organisation has continued to offer training to our members and also to our committee in order that we remain aware and up-to-date with all current legislation and requirements. We have availed of free training where possible as budgets have been stretched. All courses were virtually attended. 

Food hygiene retraining has been completed by 2 of our members 

Basic First Aid training has been completed by 4 of our members. 



## **6. Working with Others** 

During the year, our organisation has worked with a large number of groups, the main ones are shown below :-
