The Trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2019.
The accounts have been preparècl in ac¢ordanee with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the accounts
and comply witri the charity's Memorandum and Articles of Association. the Companies Act 2006 8nd
'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practi￿ applicable lo charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Stsndard applicable in the UK
Republic of Ireland IFRS 102). las amended for accounting pertods commencing from 1 January 20161
Objectives and activities
The principal objective of the club is the prowsion of childcare facilities, after school clubs and summer
schemes.
The Trustees have paid due regard lo guidance ISSU￿ by the Charity Commission in deuding what activities
the charity should undertake.
Public Benefit
The objectives of the Trust are as listed. The Trust has considered the UK Cha￿ty Commission's guidance on
public benefit and plans lo ensure that it provides public benefit ancl achieves its objectives as set out in the
Trust's Mernorandum and Arttdes ofAssocialion.
The trustees gNe careful consideration to accessibility for all without discrirninalion on grounds of politi¢s,
religion, race, social or economi¢ background.
A¢hievÈments and perfomiance
During the year Club United has provide(J appropriate childcare fa¢ilities on a daily basis for children aged
between 4 and 12 years old. The Ca￿ is provided for all children regardless of religion, culture race or means.
The dub operated on a ¢haritable non-trading basis. We have worked alongside parents and carèrs to ensure
they were involved in the planning of activities to ensure the best interests of the children were catered for as
well as offering numerous play opportunities for them. We planned and organised activities, trips and
workshops in rdation to different cultLJres and beliefs to ensure that each child was catered for. We provided a
summer scheme over the months of July and August where children gol the opportunity to lake part in the fun
nd stimulating actwities planned. This project included workshops and outings for the children to attend
which gave opportunity for them to explore and leam from different cultures and beliefs.
The obje¢tive of the project was to educate and inform children of the benefrts of cultural diversity. It also
prowded opportunity for children to play together in a neutral environment and build lasting friendships with
pe8￿ from dNfferent religious and cultural backgrounds whilst hav*ng fun.
Club Unf(ed studied the needs of chIld￿n within the setttng and with the experience and kno￿edge of our
qualrfied staff we ￿Cognised the nèeds of children and families within our local communities. We have
provided a safe, caring and stimLJlating environment for the chil(Iren to attend whilst giving parents and carers
the opportunity to return to work or training by providing these services at an affordable cost.
Financial review
The results for the year are set out on page 7.
Total incoming resources for the y98r were £76,657 of which 29% was generated from grants.
Total resources expended were £83,487 of which 90% was expended on direct actiwties.

Reserves Policy
The Tmsl aims to continue lo increase reseN88 to ensure the stability of programmes. employment and
everyday operations of the organisation.
The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems
are in place to mrtigate exposure to the major risks.
Going Concem
Having reviewed the TTusVs fore￿$1S, the trusteès hava a reasonablè èxpectation that the TnJ¥t has adequate
resources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable ftjture. The principal fa¢tors underfying this
judgement include..
Current levels of financial perfomlance by comparison with budgeted expectations-
Continuing support from the funders
Aecordingly, Trust continues to adopt the going concem basis of accounting in preparing the annual

Risk Management
The charity has developed a Risk Management Policy in relation to welfare and protection of the children who
are members of the club. A Corporate Financial Risk Register is being drawn up to priorilise the risks requirin9
action. Risk Registers will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis or as soon as a potential risk is
idenb'fied. Analysis for each risk will be detaileil in the Risk Register togettier with the controls currenlly in
place to mitigate the risk and the fijrther actions reouired to rninimise the risk.
Organisation
The Board of Trustees which administers the Trust meets on a monthly basis.

Company Law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which gNe a true
and fair wew of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources,
including the income and expenditure. of the charitsble company for that year.
In preparing these financial statements. the Trustees are required to:
select suitable accounting poliaes and then apply them consistently.,
observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP-
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent. and
prepare the financial statements on the going coneem basis unless it is inappropriate to presumè that the
charity will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with reasonable
accur8¢y at any lime the financial position of the charity and enablè them to ensure that the financial
statements ¢ornply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding thé assets of the
charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

As the Trustees of the charity land also its directors for the purposes of company lawl you are responsible
for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the ￿qUIreMents of the Companies Act
2006 (the 2006 Actl-
Having satisfied myself that the financial ststemenls of the charity are not required to be audited under Part
16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for indepèndent examination, I report in respect of my examination of the
charity's financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 {the 2011 Actl. In
Ca￿ng out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commisston
under section 145151{bl of the 2011 Act.

Charity infomiation
Club United is a private company limited by guarantèe incorporatèd in Northern Ireland. The regisleretl

1.1 Ac¢ountrng convention
The aco)unts have been prepared in accordan￿ wth the charity's Memorandum and Articles of
As50ciatK>n,
the Companies A¢t 2006 and -Accounting and Reporb"ng by Charrf(ies.' Ststement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charib.es preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Repo￿ng Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" {as amended for accounting
periods commencing from 1 January 20161. The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The charity has tsken advantsge of the provisions in the SORP for charities applying FRS 102 Update
Bulletin 1 not to prepare a Ststement of Cash Fli)ws.
The financi81 statements are prepared in sterting, which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetsry
amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost C4Jnvention. The prinripal accounting policies
adopted are set out below.
1.2 Going concern
At the time of approving the financial stslements. the Trustees have a reasonable expectslion that the
charity has adeqLtate resoLJrces to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable futtjre. Thus the
Trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of a￿Unting in preparing the fjnancial statements.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unrestricted fvnds are available for use al the di%cretion of the Trustees in furtheranco of their Charitable
objectives unless the funds havè been designatèd for other purposes.
Designated fvnds are unrestricted funds set aside al the discretion of tre trustees for specific purposes.
The designated funds for fjxed assets is th8t part of unrestrcted funds that represents fixed assets held.
Restri¢ted funds are subject lo specific condits'ons by donors as to how they may be us8d. The purposes
and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statements.
1.4 Incoming resources
Income is ￿COgnIsed when the charity is legally entitled to il after any performance conditions have bèen
mel. the amounts can be measured reliabty, and it is probable that in¢x)me will be received.
Cash donation$ are re¢ognised on ￿CeiPt. Other donations are recognised once the charity has been
notified of the donation, unless performanee condrftions require déferral of the amount. Income tsx
rewverable in relab.on to donations re￿iVed under Gift Aid or deeds of covgnant is recognised at the time
of the donation.
Legaaes a￿ recognised on ￿elp1 or otherwise rf the charity has been notified of an ifflpending
distribution, the amount is known, and receipt is expected. If the amount is not known, the legacy is treated
as a conlingenl asset.
1.5 Rèsourcès expended
Expenditurè is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to make a payment lo a third
party. il is probable that settlement will be required and the amount of the obligath'on ean be measured
reliably. Irrecoverable VAT is char9èLY as a cost a9ainst the a¢tivity for which the expenditure w8s incur￿d.

1.6 Tangible fixed assets
Tangible iixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequentty measured at cost or valuation. net of
depreciats'on and any irnpaim)ent losses.
Deprecialion is recognised so as to write off the cost or valualion of assets less their ￿SidUal values over

1.8 Cash and cash èqu4valÈnts
Cash and cash equivalents indude cash in hand and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown within
l)orrowings in current liabilrfEie$.
1.9 Financtal Instrurnonts
The Charity h8s electèd lo apply the provisions of Section 11 '88sic Finat)cial Instrum8nts' and Section 12
'Olher Financial Instruments Issues, of FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments.
Financial instruments are re¢ognised in the charity's balance sheet when the charity becomes paty to the
contractual provssions of the instrument.
Financial assets and liabilities are offset. with the net amounts presented in the financial statéments, when
there is a legally enforceable right to set off the recognised amounts and there is an intention to setde on a
net basis or to realise the asset and setde the liability simuttaneously.
Basic financial assets
Basic financial assets, which Indude debtors and ￿$h and bank balan￿$. arè initially measured at
transaction price includTng transaction costs and are subsequently carried at amorbsèd cost using thè
effective interest method unless the arrangement constitutas a financing transaction, where the transaction
is measured at the present value of the future receipts di￿u￿ted at a market rate of interest. Fir+ancial
assets classffied as receivable within one year are not amoTtisert.

Basic financial liabilities, induding creditors and bank loans are initially recognised at transaction pri

as payable wilhin one year are not amortised.
Debt instwments are subsequently carried at amortised cosL using Ihe effective interest rate method.
Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or seNices that have been acquired in the ordinary course
of operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilities rf paymènt is due within
one year or less. If not, they are presented as non-currenl liabilities. Trade creditors ara recognised initially
at transaction price and subsequenuy measured at amofbsed txst using the effedve interest rnethod.
Derecognition of financial liabilities
Financial liabilities are derecognised when Ihe ¢haritys corrtractual obligations expire or are discharged or
cancelled.
1.10 Employv benefits
The cost of any unused holiday entiljemenl is recognised in the period in which the employee's services
are received.
Termination benefits are ￿CogniSed immediately as an trxpense when the charity is demonstrably
committed lo terminate the employment of an employee or lo provide terrnination benefits.
1.11 Rètirement benèfits
Payments to defined contribution retirement benefit schemes are charged as an expense as they fall due.
Critical a¢¢ounting estimat•s and judgèments
In the application of the charity's accounting poli¢ies, the Trustees are required to make judgements,
estimates and asstjmptions about thè carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent
from other sources. The estimates and assooated assumptions a￿ based on historical experience and
otè)er factors th813re considered to be relevant. Actual resutts may drffer from these estimates.
The estimates and Undert￿ng assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revksions to accounting
estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimaté is revised where the revision affects only that
period, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future
periods.
