The TrLtstees present their report ané financial statements for the year ended 31 AL5gust 2018.
The accounts have been pr8pared in accordance with the accounting policies sel out in note 1 to the accounts
and comply wth the charity's Memorandum and Artides of Association, the Companies Act 2006 and
'Accounling and Reporting by Charities-. Statement of Recomrnended Practice applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance wrth the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" las amended for accounting periods commencing from 1 January 20161
Oblectlves and actlvltles
The principal objective of the club is the provision of childcare f8¢ilities. after school clubs and summer
schemes.
The Trustees have paid due regard lo guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities
the charity should undertake.
Public Benoflt
The objectives of the Trust are as listed. The Trust has considered the UK Charity Commission's guidance on
public benefit and p18ns to ensure that il provides public benefit and achieves ils objectives as sel out in the
Trust's Memorandum and Articles of Association.
The trustees give careful consideration lo accessibility for all without discrimination on grounds of polltics,
religion. race, social or economic b3fjkgmund.
Achlev&ments and performance
During the year Club United has PTovided appropriate childG8re facilities on a daily basis for children aged
between 4 and 12 years old. The care is provided for all children regardless of religion, culture race or rneans.
The club operated on a charitable non-tradin9 basis. We have worked alongside parents and carers lo ensure
they were involved in the planning of activities to ensure the best interests of the children were catered for SS
well as offering numerous play opportunities for them. We planned and organised aclivilies, trips and
workshops in relation lo different cultures and be11efs lo ensure that each child was Catered for. We provided a
summer scheme over the months of July and August where children gol the opportunity lo tske part in the fun
and stimulating activities planned. This project included workshops and outings for the children lo attend
which gave opportunity for them to explore and leam from different cultures and beliefs.
The objective of the project was lo educate and inform children of the benefits of cultural diversity. It also
providtrd opportunity for children lo play together in a neulral environment and build lasting friendships with
peers from different religious and cultural backgrounds whilst having fun.
Club United studied the needs of children within the setting and with the experience and knowledge of our
qualified staff wo recognised the needs of children and fafnilies within our local communities. We have
provided a safe, caring stimulating environment for the children to attend whilst giving parent5 and carers
the opportunity to relum to work or training by providing these services at an affordable cost,

The results for the year are sel out on page 7.
Total incoming resources for the year were £86.816 of which 21 Yo was generated from grants.
Total resource5 exp8nded were £93,257 of which 81Qlo was expended on direct activities.

Reserves Policy
The Trust aims to continue to increase reserves to ensure the stability of programmes, employment and
everyday operations of the organisation.
The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems
are in place to mitigate exposure lo the major risks.
Going Concern
Having reviewed the Trusvs forecasts, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Trust has adeouale
resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. The principal factors underlying this
judgement include..

Appolntmavit of Trustees
The Charity Trustees are also Directors of the company. A Trustee is initially elected by the Board in
accordance with Ihe Memorandum and Articles of Association.
Risk Management
The charity has developed a Risk Management Policy in relation to welfare 8nd protection of the children who
are members ol the club. A Corporate Financial Risk Register is being drawri up lo prioritise the risks requiring
action. Risk Registers wi51 be reviewed and updated on a regular basis or as soon as a potential risk is
denlified. Analysi5 for each risk will be detailed in the Risk Register together with the controls currently in
place to mitigate the risk and the further actions required to minimise Ihe risk.
Organisation
The Board of Trustees which administers the Trust meets on a monthly basis.
Trustoe Induction
All new trustees are given an induction and provided with relevant documenlalion.
Statem8nt of Tru5tges' responsiblllties
The Trustees, who are also the directors of Club United for the purpose of company law, are responsible for
preparing the Trustees, Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable 18w and United
Kingdorn Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
Company Law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for e2ch finanGi¥l year which give a true
and fair view of the stale of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources,
including the income and expenditure, of the charitable company for that year.
In preparing these financial statements. the Trustees are required lo..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.,
observe the methods and prinaples in the Charities SORP.,
make judgements and estimates that 8re reasonable and prudent.,
state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed. subject to any material departures
disclosed and explained in the financial statements", and
prepare the financial slalemenls on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the
charity will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial Position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial
st8tements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the
charity and hance for taking reasonabl8 steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

TO THE TRUSTEES OF CLUB UNITED
I report to the TTUStees on my examination of the financtal statements of Club United {the Charity) for the
year ended 31 Augus12018.
Responsibilitiès and basis of report
As the Tnjslees of the charity land also its directors for the purposes of company lawl you are responsible
for the preparation of the financial statemen15 in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act
2006 Ithe 2006 Act).
Having satisfied myself that the finanryal statements of the charity are not required to be audited under Part
16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of the
Charity's financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act). In
carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515llb} of the 2011 Act.

I have completed my examination. I confimi that no matters have corne to my attention in Connection with
the examination giving me Cause to believe that in any mateiial respect-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 386 of the 2006 Act..

Accounting pollcios
Charity infomiation
Club United is a priv8te company limited by guarantee incorporated in Northern Ireland. The registered
office is . Club United - Unit 1, Glendermott Valley Business Park, Church 8rae. Londonderry, BT47 3QR.
1.1 Accounting convention
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the charity's Memorandum and Articles of
Association, the Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021. las amended for accounting
periods ¢ommencing from 1 January 20161. The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities applying FRS 102 Update
Bulletin 1 not to prepare a Statement of Cash Flows.
The financial statements are prepared in sleding, which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary
amounts In these financial statements are rounded lo the nearest £.
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounUng policies
adopted are sel out below.
1.2 Going conc•rn
At the time of approving ihe financial staternents, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the
charity has adequate resources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the
Trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
1.3 Charitable fund$
unreslritt.ed funds are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of their charitable
objectives unless the funds have been designated for other purposes.
Designated funds are unrestricted funds set aside al the discretion of the trustees for specific purposes.
The designated funds for fixed assets is that part of unrestricted funds that represents fixed assets held.
Restricted ftjnds are subject to specific condillons by donors as lo how they may be used. The purpose5
and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial ststements.
1.4 Incomlng r¢sourc•s
Income is recognised when the charity is legally entitled to it after any perforTnance conditions have been
met, the amounts Can be measured reliably, and il is probable Ihat incom8 will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the charity has been
notified of the donation, unless perf0nllan￿ conditions require deferral of the amount. Income tax
recoverable in relatlon lo donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the lime
of the donation.
Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the charity has been nolified of an impending
distribution, the amount is known, and receipt Is expected. If the amount is not known, the legacy is Irealed
as a conlingenl asset.
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable and represents amounts
receivable for goods and services provided in the normal course of business, nel of discounts, VAT and
other sales related taxes.

1.5 Resources expended
Expenditure is recognised On￿ there is a legal or constructive obligation lo make a payment to a third
party. it is probable that settlemenl will be required and the amDunt of the obligation can be measured
Siably. Irrecoverdble VAT is charged as a cost against the activity for which the expendrture was incurred.
Expenditure on charitable activities includes the costs of services undertaken to further the purposes of the
charity and their associated support costs.
1.6 Tangible fixed assets
Tan9ible fixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequenlly measured at cost or valuation. net of
depreciation and any impaimienl losses.
DepreciatlDn is recognised so as to write off the cost or valuation of assets less their residual values over
their useful lives on the following bases..

The gain Dr loss arising on the disposal of an asset is detemined as the difference between the sale
proceeds and the carying value of the asset, and is recognised in net incomellexpenditurel for the year.
1.7 Impairnient of fixed assets
At each reporting end date, the charity reviews the c3rrying amounts of its tangible assets to determine
whether there is any indic81ion that those assets have suffered an impaimienl loss. If any such indication
exists, the recoverable amount of the asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairment
loss Irf any).
Intangible assets wtth indefinite useftjl lives and intangible assets not yet available for use are tssled for
impaimenl annually, and whenever there is an indication that the asset may be impaired.
1.8 Cash and ¢ash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents indude cash in hand and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown wthin
borrowings in current liabilities.
1.9 Finan¢ial instruments
The charity has elected lo apply the provisions of Section 11 'Basic Financial Instruments, and Section 12
'Other Financial Instruments Issues, of FRS 102 to all of its financi81 instruments.
Financial instTuments are recognised in the charity's balan￿ sheet when the chality becomes paty lo the
contractual provisions of the instrumet)t.
Financi81 assets and liabilities are offset, with the net amounts presented in the financial statements, when
there is a legally enfor￿able right lo set off the recogni5ed amounts and there is an intention to setue on a
nel basis or to reslise the asset and settle the liability simultaneously.
Basic financial assets
Basic financAal assets, which include debtors and cash and bank balanGes, are initially measured at
transaction price including trans8ctson costs 2nd are subsequently carried at amortised cost using the
effective interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaGtion
is measured al the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial
assets classified as receivable within one year are not amorb'sed.

Basic financlal liabilities
Basie financial liabilities, including creditors and bank loans are initially recognised al transaction price
unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is tneasured al the
present value of the future payments discounted al a market Tate of interest. Financial liabilities classified
as pay8ble within one year are not amortised.
Debt instruments are subsequently carried al amortised cost. using the effective interest rate method.
Trade creditors are obligations to Pay for goods OT services that have been acquired in the ordinary course
of operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilities if payment is due within
one year or less. If not, they are presented as non-current liabilities. Trade creditors are recognised initially
at Iransaction price and subsequently measured at amortls8d cost using the effective interest methDd.
DeTr¢ognition of flnancial liabilltles
Financial liabilities are derecognised when the charity's conlraclual obligations expire or are discharged or
cancelled.
1.10 Employee benefits
The cost of any unused holiday entitlement is recognised in the period in which the employee's setvices
are received.
Termination benefits are rewgnised irnmedialely as an expense when the charity is demon51rably
committed to terminate the employment of an employee or to provide termination benefits.
1.11 Retlrement benafits
Paymgnls to defined contribution retirement benefit schemes are charged as an expense as they fall due.
CrStical accountlng estlmates and ludgements
In the application of the charity's accounting policies, the Trustees are reouired to make judgements,
estimates and assumptions about the c8rrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent
from othtsr sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and
other factors that are considered lo be Televant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.
The estimates and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to accounting
estimate5 are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that
period. or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future
periods.
