Trustees Annual Report

1[st] Aug 2024 to 31[st] July 2025

Medaid4kids 1[st] Floor 195a York Road Belfast BT15 3HB

Trustees: Robert Jones Richard Ryder

Medaid4kids is constituted as a charitable trust, governed by a memorandum dated 7[th] July 2008. The purpose of the charity, as stated in the memorandum of trust is: -

To relieve poverty and promote the protection and preservation of health in any part of the world by associating the statutory authorities and voluntary organisations in a common effort for the relief of human suffering, sickness and distress.

Main Activities

With the continuation of the war in Ukraine, as we did last year, we felt it was important to continue our support of the people in Ukraine in 2024/25 and this has been our principle focus in this year. We sought ways to continue providing support in the form of medical supplies, equipment and water wipes.

We were also involved in a number of smaller ongoing projects in Zambia, where we have been supporting hospitals with medical equipment and we are continuing to work towards sending two large containers that will be converted into accommodation for street children.

In Moldova, we continue to support two orphanages through the provision hygiene products and nappies for the baby orphanage. This work has also helped ensure the continued provision of cleaning materials and sanitary products that the vulnerable children and adults require.

As in previous years, our income is provided from a variety of private donations, friends, family and supporters who are closely involved in our projects or those who hear about the work we are doing via other charities and organisations. We provide regular updates of the work we are involved in via our website, presentations and networking.

All officers of Medaid4kids serve as volunteers, the aim being that all money raised goes into the projects we support. Medaid4kids has a limited but committed number of donors and supporters. All funds raised are specifically for the projects we have identified as being suitable beneficiaries of and for which we have pledged our support and endorsed by our donors. This way we can ensure that all funds raised are used as effectively as possible for those who need our help. The charity has no debts.

Reporting

As part of our operations we always ensure that there is a trusted, local representative in every area we help, who understands our aims and objectives and who will take responsibility for overseeing and reporting back on how each project is progressing. We continue to partner with Vladimir Golovat in Moldova and various trusted contacts in Ukraine. We receive regular feedback from our partners and this allows us to monitor how well the goods and equipment we send are being utilised. It also enables us to highlight difficulties and identify other projects and areas where we may be able to assist.

Evaluation

It is our practice to have Trustee representatives visit on a voluntary basis some of our key projects. However, no travel was undertaken in this year. We continue to rely heavily on our trusted local representatives in each area we support and we engage with them regularly. They continue to keep us informed and updated, including any changing circumstances and urgent needs. This is essential in allowing us to ensure compliance with our aims and objectives and address any issues that arise. It is also critical in the Ukraine, where circumstances can change rapidly.

Conclusion

We remain dedicated to supporting the work, however small, in Moldova, Ukraine and Zambia. The impact of our projects on vulnerable communities, and what we witness first hand, reinforces our commitment to our work. Our beneficiaries depend on our support in order to make a difference to their lives - whether this is through providing goods and materials to orphanages to help make lives a little bit better; or in enabling disabled people with no social support to become more independent and live easier lives.

This has been evident through the work we are carrying out in the Ukraine, which has been broadly supported by our circle of volunteers. With the media attention on what is happening in Ukraine, we have been able to link with other organisations and volunteers to

gather goods and materials that is desperately needed by both refugees and those that remain in the country. We will continue to work to support those that need us the most.

The above named Trustees of Medaid4kids continue to support and endorse the work of the charity as meeting the aims and objectives and providing life changing interventions for families.
