The principal activity of the company is to promote ihe benefit of the inhabitants of the area of Gortnaghey and it's environs
wiihout distinciion of %ex, rnce or political, ieligiou$ 01 oihei opinions by as%ociaiing with the statutory authoritie8, voluntary
organisations and inhabitants in a common effort lo rclicve poverty. advance cducation. preserve and protect health and providc
facilities in theinterest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations with the object of improving
condiiions of life for the said inhabitants.
Th¢ company opcratcs a communily c¢ntrc for us¢ by all groups in ihe community. It provides a range of cducational and
recreational classes. The company holds iveekly social events for the elderly and a youth club for the young people of the area.
It provides a fax and photoeopying 8ervice and act% as a %ignpo%i for other setvices and provides a free advice cliTJiC. It provide%
acccss to an outdoor recreationallsporting facility for all mcmbers of the community. which consists of a play-park. walkway.
3G pitch and green space. It provides opportunities for people to get involved involunteering and it has annual seasonal and
outdoor events to bnng the communiry together. Local communiry groups are our main users, plus Sure Strdrt and the Rural
Women's Network.
Aehievement5 Perfortnance
Our outdoor facilities continue to be a very popular destination for visitors, plus the Centre continues to be used weekly for
children's birthday parties. Our partnership wirh the Rural Women's Network over the last year has seen the weekly delivery
on Monday and Wednesday evenings of a range of iecreaiional classes, plu% our partner%hip with Benbrndagh Community
Resouice ha% seen our Youth Club engage in a range of activities such as tnartial arts, tircus skills and outings. Bringing the
Big Bus for Cancer Scrcening to th¢ Centr¢ was also a vcry wclcomc achicvement this year. Plans to dcvclop a pcrniissive
path to connect thc villag¢ and local GAC ground5 is in progrcss.

Reserves Policy
The charity's policy on restricted funds is to separately record donations, grants and other sources of funding where restrictions
are imposed on ih¢ir use by Ihc donor. Thc Iruslc¢s hav¢ ¢5tsbli5hcd a policy {which will be revicwcd on an annual basis)
whereby the unrestricted funds not committed or ini'ested in tangible fixed assets or designated for specific purposes ("the free
reserves") held by the char]ry should equate to approximately six months of the resource% expanded. Jn additions to this the
trustees sct a target of £1 0.000 io be hcld as a reserye to ensure ihat thcrc arc sutTici¢nt funds to keep thc property in good
repair and to cover estimatcd redundancy costs. This equates to £26.949 in general ￿nds. At ihis level, the trustees considcr
that they would be able to continue Ihe eurrent activities of Ihe chariry in the event of a significant drop In income. Jt would
also bc necessary to consider how that incom¢ would b¢ rcplaccd. Ai the balancc shcct date frce rcscrvcs, which amount to
£67,945 (£321,146 less £253,201 re tangible fixed assets) exceed the minimum target level by £40,996. The trustees hope to
usc these funds to a%sist with ihc d¢v¢lopTn¢nt of lh¢ villa¥¢ acliviry hub.
Plans for Future Periods
In thc prcscnt cconomic climatc, it is thc company's intcntion to maintain and dcvclop its currcnt activitics. Thc company will
continue to seek opportunities to expand in the areas which are compatible to the eihos and objectives of the company. We are
currently working with Caus¢way Coast and Gl¢n5 on a project, which if successful will see thc construction of perniissivc
pathway, which will link the villagc with the GAC grounds. Thc National Lottery funding for the Enriching Rural
Communities, a joint project wirh neighboring Bumfoot finished in Augusi 2023 and we plan to reapply.
Structure, Governence and Management
Gortnaghcy Community Association is a company limitcd by guarantce and rcgistcrcd as a charity with the Charity
Commission N.1.. In tenns of company law. charity law and day to day activities, thccompany is an independent entity. The
tru8tee8 meet regularly to direct the operations of the charity- The chariry has 2 part time employees.
An Annual General Mccting is h¢ld ¢very y¢ar, and a paTtcl comprising of cxistingtrustCC5 nominates individuals for the Board.
Trustees serve for a one year period and may be re-elected for further one year periods. The trustees who served during the
year ended Febn￿ry28[h 2023 are listed on the infornMtion page.

Taxation
As a charity, the company is not liable for corporation tax on its other income or on capital gains to the extent that these are
