**Purposes:** The objects of the Association are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the area of Gortnaghey and its environs (the "area of benefit") without distinction of sex, race or political, religious or other opinions by associating with the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to relieve poverty, advance education, preserve and protect health and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
