## **CLADY CROSS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION TRUSTEE REPORT – 01.04.23 – 31.03.24** 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The objects of the charity are to relieve poverty, sickness and the age and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Clady and Urney area of Co Tyrone and it’s environs.  To advance education, to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation or other leisure with the aim to improve life for the said inhabitants. 

The main activities are to offer projects and programmes to the community.  Weekly classes are run in the community centre. Seasonal events are offered to bring the community together.  Clady CA community centre is offered to the community for private functions.  There is also training opportunities offered for the community to avail of. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

Activities and classes include weekly Arts & Crafts, Irish Dancing, Karate NWSC and yoga classes. 

Health visitors attend weekly in hall for the community preschool and older children. We continued with seasonal activities: Easter fun activities for all ages, trips to historical sites/fun parks/shopping and more activities for all age groups.  Annual Christmas guest tea buffet, all the rural communities involved. Halloween and Christmas festivities over a 3 day period on all occasions. Summer 3day community events including 10k in conjunction with NIHE, and community events for the summer. Kid’s party packages in the hall at weekends. Peace plus programmes. Trips to cinemas, historical events through National Lottery for different ages. Healthy living programmes through DEA. Kids arts and crafts programme weekly on festival calendar. Interaction with all local groups, schools, local GAA, local community Chapel and churches of all domains. 

The committee continue to hold monthly committee meetings. There are weekly community cleanup group every Saturday. Community involvement with community issues.  Attending Community based meetings such as lnteragency meetings, Housing Community Network with NI Housing Executive and Supporting Communities which are vital for small rural communities.
