Objectives

The objectives of the preschool are to enhance the development and learning of preschool children, by encouraging parents/guardians to understand and provide for the needs of their children by:

A. offering appropriate play facilities with the right of carers/parents to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group, ensuring that the group offers opportunities for all children, regardless of religion, culture, race or means.

B. encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting public interest in and recognition of such needs of such children and their families in the local areas.

C. Supporting the values and principles of Early Years.

Public Benefit

The Public Benefit requirement can be demonstrated by:

The Pre School enhances and supports Community life in a rural area by facilitating interaction between pre-school children and their parents.

The Pre School supports young people embarking on career choices with the ability to gain work experience/placements.

The Pre School delivers a pre-school education for children in the Teconnaught/Annacloy area, maximising their opportunities to excel in Primary School.

Achievements

Teconnaught Cross Community Pre School is continually working to and meeting its key objectives.

Due to the pressures of funding the Pre School relies on support from the parents and local community. Due to Covid 19 fundraising was limited to Raffles, Voluntary Contributions, Cash for Clobber.

Teconnaught Cross Community Pre School has also run part time sessions for children in their Pre PreSchool Year.
