Familylife Foundation is a non-d8nominational Christian charity that focuses on demonstr8tlng
Christ's love by addressing issues that impact family life. Issues such as: families living wlth

disabled children & provlding care, families dealing with chlldren who are In game sex
relationships, the impact of111 health on family life particuL8rlythat related to cancer and those
who suffer from It directly, andlor impacted by it within family settings. We organlse meetings to
provide support to P80ple suff ering with cancer and its associated treatments. We organlse and
establish support groups throughout the area of benefit for people affected by family issues.
particularly that relating to cancer, ond work in partnership with churches frorn all
denominations to provide facilities for these support groups to meet.
Public Benoflt Siatement
The Trusteès of Famllyiife FoundatSon recognls8 the public benefit requirement outllned by the
Charity Commisslon for Northern Ir818nd. Th8 dir8Ct benefits which flow from the charity's
activitles 8r8 as follows:
1. To promote the Chri8tlgn fglth in the area of beneflt:
Publlc benef St: The dlrect benefit that flows from this purpose Include the advancement
of tho Chrlstlan faith. which offers hope. provldes prayer, Care, and support prlmarlly to
those individuals and families affected by cancer In some form or other. These
beneflclaries flnd ielief from their n88d by reason of age.111-h8alth, family breakdown. by
engaging In the many opportunltie$ which are gvai18ble In our support groups whlch are
88fe. hospltablè. and welcomlng 8pac8S.
A private benefit to trustees may arlse from th8 opportunlty to speak at meetlngs but thls
would be incidental and necessafy to promot8 the work of the charlty.
2. Relleve suflerlng, slckne8S 8nd distres8 amongthe inh8bltants and famllles of the 8re8
of b8nellt wlthout dl8tlnction of age, sex, polltlcal or religious or other oplnion and to

members sufferlng wlth can¢er Issues. The operation of these actfvltles Is
demonstration of non-denominational Chrlstian servlce to the communlty. The
b8neflciaries of this purpose are p8opl8 living throughout Northern Ireland. For an
Indivldu91 person who is diagn08ed with cancer the fear of the unknown is initlally
Immens8. and the support and care given by others who have prevlouslywentthrough
slrnllar sltU8tions can be extremolyworthwhlle, An Indlvidual would benefit from private
Pastoral c9re, or by the support provided through particlpatlng In a support group.
Attendlng conferences where professlonals frorn the health sector talk about the Issues,
physSc81 and otherwlse, providlng InformatSon and advlce on Ilvlng with canc8r. and
cancer treatment. A private benefit flowing from this purpose Is that g8ined by a trustee
who may Incldentally have a t8mily member who would be able to avall of these servlce8
through the same opportunity as the public. There is no harm flowing from our purposes.
Achievement8 and perforn)an¢e

The results show a substantial surplus forthe year.

Re8erve8 Policy
While the trustees are conscious that under th8 new arrangement of employing G Kerr in the
Executive DSrector role, our annual target for income generation will b8 £50.000, they know the
demand for support withln the charlty sector Is extremely competitive. They are very aware ol
the ongoing need to raise funds and to maint8ln 8 small reserve also.
Plan8 for futur• perlod8
From 1"April 2026 we wlll be employlng the Executive Diractor on a full-tlme ba818 to promote
and m8nBge the operations of the chArlty. Thls wlll Include the task of seeklng to r8188 funds to
meet the salary demands plus the othèr costs of runnin8 th8 charlty.
Th8 grant from B8n8fact Trust 8nd the pledge of support from our other key donors at Ardbarron
and TBF & KL Thompson Trust, has taken us a massive step tOW8rdsthi8 goal and wewlll
contlnue to seek other sources of fundlng to achleve this during the next financl81 porlod.
The Executlve Dlrector and hls W￿e, wlll also dellver much of the personal pastoral car8 and
support to famllies directly, continuing to do so from the prlvaGy of thelr home.
One 8peclfl¢ 8lm Is to commence a men's support group. facllitated by the Executive Dir8Ctor,
for dad's who are deallng wlth per8on81 health18SLl8S, Including mental health, due to situations
w5thln thelr famllles. We p18n to start th18 In Sgptembgr 2026.
There are also plans to commence a fourth C8ncer Supportgroup in Carrlckfergu8, reachlng out
to potentially another 20 + people. Discussions are presently taking place wlth a core group of
volunteers and a charltable organlsatlon who would Ilke to host the group In thelr prem18e8.
The need for supportlng f8m11188 through thelr struggie818 Increasing r8pldly, and God wllllng.
we will contlnuè to Seè the work ol Famllyllfe Found8tlon play 8 role In meetlng some of these
