Muintir na Mointeach is a community based group which works from ihe Washingbay Healthy living
Comtnunity Centre based in the Washingbay area of Co Tyrone. The group provides and managjes this facilily
for the delivery of educational aciiviiies, Arts, culture, social activity. healih and wellbeing, environiental
iniprovenients and leisure and recreational aciivitieswhicl) il also organizes. The group provides opportunities
through training to develop the capacity and skills of the meinbers of the area and in particular Ih05e deeimed io
be froin social and econoinically disadvantaged cominunilies of Washingbay and Il)e surrounding area.
Activities and classes include Art, slorytelling and music sessions, children's Irish dancing , health inforjnalion
sessions, farniing infonnation and thlks, cultural and language classes, vintagye rallies, historical and
reminiscence, yoga, keep fil, bowls, martial arts and Gaelic gam¢s. The centre is also used for family occassions
lo include anniversity partiesldinners, birihday celebrations. The group also provide for walking, cycling and
boating safety sessions. Muintir na Mointeach has a strong enviroiner,tal friendly ethos, it denionslales
renewable energy efficiences and develops ai)d advances envirornental and regeneration projects iii the area
along ihe SW shores of Lough Neagh, the Washing)bay Wetlands park and Ihe Dungyannon School lands. The
group promotes community developnient approaclies to local issues and aims lo increase the participation of as
many local people and visitors in community activity.

detemiined.
Muinlir na Mointeach is established 10 promote ihe benefit of the inhabitants of Washingbay area and its
neighbourhood togyether defined as the Muinlir area wiihout distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of
political, religious or other opinions by associating tOgFell)er the said inhabitants and the local
authorities,voluntary and other organisalions in a coinmon effort to advance education and to provide facilities
in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure lime occupation with Ihe objecl of iinproving the
conditions of life of the said inhabilanls:
To establish or secure the establishinent of a Coinmunity Centre and io Inaintain and manage the saine, wheiher
alone or in cooperation with any local authority or other person or body in futherance of these objecis..
To develop the capacity and skills of the Ineinb¢rs of Ihe scoially and econoniically disadvantaged community
of Washingbay and Ihe Su￿ound1ng area in such a way that they are better able lo identify and help meet their
needs and lo participate more fully in local society..
To promole such other chatritable purposes as may from time to time be detennined,

Muinlir Na Mointeach is tlie local coininunity organisaiion located in the Washingbay Area South W¢st of
Lough Neagh. We are managed by a voluniary board of Direclors. The benefits flowing froin our purpos¢s are
thal people froi)I the coinmunity recieve ongoing access to educational aciivity, capacity building, h¢alih
promoiion and awareness, enviroinenlal awareness and increased social interaction in their own local rural area
through a community facility which ensures greater participatiOT] in positive cominunily activity. This means
thai individuals and small rural coinniunity groups are Inore effective and better able lo provide activities for all
of the coinmunity. The group provides the necessary opporturbities 10 learn new skills and obtain nem,
experiences through its coiwiiunity projects aimed at a wide range of local people who can gain beiiefit froin
activity we deliver relaled to community developmenl. capacity building, healthlwellbeing and reb?eneration
issues. This leads lo iiiiproving in coinpetencies, ii)fonnal education, skill sets, in health and wellbeing and in
general living conditions. Individuals and groups iinprove their coinmiinity development practice and civic
leadership roles by having access to ihe COlT]munity centre and its activities and local people are able 10 provide
greater voluntary time Contributions which provides an effeciive and a much improved local conununity with a
greater sense of belongiilg. The direct beiiefil of promotion of suslainable developinent within this rural
coiiiinunity ivill lead lo Inore appropriate developnient in this rural area which pers¢rves and prolecls Ilie
¢nviroinenl whilsi achievinbj sustainable econoniic growth and regeneration.These beiiefits will be evidenced by
feedback froin member groups on their work which will enhance the local landscape and lieritagye whilst
meeting the challenges of climate and economic change. We don't believe that any harni will arise from this
purpose.
The Public benefits can be measiired by ihe number of projects and the nuinber of people attending the activities
scheduled as well as the number ot organisations ulilizing the blbilding. The developinent and sustaining of
positive community development activity and the en&Ja&iement of the rural coiiiinunity in both indoor and
outdoor projects are important cominunity beiietil Ineasures. Our activities are also Inonitored aiid measured
regyularly by funders such as DARD and the local council. There is no harm flowing from our activities and no
private benefit other than the increase in knowlcdgye, skills and understanding of individuals which inay be

The Charity's activities expose il to a number of financial risks including credil risk, cash flow risk and liquidity
risk. The use of financial derivatives is governed by the charity's policies approved by the board of trustees,
which provide written principles on the use of financial derivatives to manage these risks. The charity does not
use derivative financial instrumenis for speculative purposes.

and inierest rates. The charity uses foreign exchange fonvard contracts and interest rate swap contracts to hedge
these exposures.
Interest bearing assets and liabilities are held at fixed rale lo ensure certainty of cash flows.

The charily's credit risk is primarily attributable to ils trade receivables. The ainounls presented in ihe balance
sheei are net of allowances for doubtful receivable5. An allowance for impairnient is made wliere there is an
idenlified loss event wliich, based on previous experience, is evidence of a reduction in the recoverability of the
cash flows.
The credit risk on liquid fijnds and derivative financial instruinents is liinited because the counterparties are
banks with higli credil-rating5 assigned by ii)ternalioi)al credit-raliiig agencies.
The cliarity has no significant concentration of credit risk. with exposure spread over a large nuinber of
counterparties and cusloiners.

Statement of trustees, responsibilities
The iru5tees (who are also the directors of Muinlir na Mointeach Ltd for Ihe purposes of company law) are
responsible for preparing the trustees, report and the financial siaiements in accordance with applicable law and
United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kinu7dom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice), includin
FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
Coinpany law requires the Irustees to prepare finai)¢ial staleinents for each financial year. Under coi)Ipaiiy law
the trustees musl not approve the financial slalemenls unle55 tliey are satisfied that they give a true aiid fair view
of the stale of affairs of Ihe charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources,
including ils income and expenditure, of the charitable coinpany for that period. In preparing these financial
statements, the trustees are required to:
select suitable accounting policies and apply thein consistently;
observe the methods and principles in the Charilies SORP-
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
state whether applicable accounting standards, comprising FRS 102 have been followed, subject lo any
material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
prepare the fiiiancial stateinent5 on the gFoing concern basis unless it is inappropriate lo presume that the
charitable conipany will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records Ihat can disclose with reasonable accuracy at
any time the financial position of the charitable company and enable Ihcni to ensure that the financial stalements
comply with the Companies Act 2006and Charilies Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. They are also responsible for
safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and
detection of fraud and other irregularities.
