Top of the Hill Youth Football Club Is a Junlor club who play In the Derry & Dlstrlct Youth Leagues
with teams from age 5 to 16 years and our senlor men's team play in the Derry & Oistrict Sunday
Morning Lea8ue. It15 run by a team of local volunteers. The club act5 as a soclal focus in an area of
hlgh deprivation. It encourages children of all talents to join and partlclpate In football. Through th15
it raises motivation and morale for all, It also encourages teamwork and dlscipline In all. Our purpose
as a Club Is to asslst the young people of the Greater Top of the Holl area to not only develop their
rootball skills, but to bulld Good relatlons, to bring about attitudinal change towards others and
continue a process of communlty heallng through 5PQrt.
The Club was estab115hed to promote the beneflt of chlldren, young people and adult5 in the
Gobnascale area of Derry {hereinafter called 'the area of benÈfiV) and to educate and asslst such
people through thelr lelsure-tlme actlvltles so to develop thelr physical, mental and splritual
capacitles and that thelr condltlon5 of life improve.
The objectives a re to improve posltive educatlonal outcomes, increase soclal skllls, Improvement in
emotlonal health and well-being and increase In spirltual development In the Ilves of the children,
youn8 people and adults In the Gobna5cJle area of Derry. Th15 purpose wlll also provlde an overall
Improvement In community Ilfe. The objectlves are demonstrated through regular rnonltorln8 and
evaluatlon fornis for each of our fundin8 bodles, attitudlnal suNèys and basellne Informatlon from
our beneflclaries, feedback from beneftclary evaluatlon forms and statlstlcs from relevant
communlty, voluntary and statutory bodles Is any harm or possibllliy of hami outwelghed by the
benefit. The main benefitiaries are chlldreni youn8 people and adults In the Greater Top of the Hlll
area of Derry CSty.

The members are responslble for preparing the annual report and the financial statements in
Accordance with appllcable law and United Klngdom Generally Accepted Accountlng Practi￿.
The law applicable to charitles in Northern Ireland requlres the members to prepare the flnancial
statements that gfve a true and falrvlew of the state affairs of the charity at the end of the flnanclal
year and of tts surplus or deficlt for the flnanclal year. In doing so the member are required to:
Select suitable accounting poll¢les and apply them conslstentlv;
Observe methods and principles In the Charltles SOAP;
Make judgements and estimates that are réasonable and prudent.
PrepaTe the flnancial statements on the goln8 concern unless It Ss inapproprlate to presume
that the charity will continue In buslness.
The members are responsible for malntalnln8 proper accounting records which disclose wlth
reasonable accuTacy at any tlme the financial posltlon of the charlty and enable them to ensure that
the flnanclal statements comply with the necessary le8lslatlon. The member are also responsible for
safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the preventlon and
detectlon of fraud and other irre8ularltles,
