**Purposes:** The objectives of the society shall be: 1.  To encourage interest in local history, and in particular the history of the North Belfast area. 2.  To promote research and the production of publications on the history of the North Belfast area. 3. To support the preservation of the historical records relating to the area, and to encourage the preservation of historical sites and buildings.
