CHAIRPERSON’S STATEMENT
The 2024-25 year was, as ever, a busy year for Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School and the PTA was privileged to take part in some important annual milestones for the children. This year we were delighted to welcome some of the new families with a Coffee Morning in September, Open Day in December and later in May we had the pleasure of hosting the P4 children and their families at the school following their Communion Service. At other events we provided funding for refreshments, so while we're not always visible at school events we are often there in spirit, supporting Grandparent’s Day, Confirmation, the P7 Play and helping Santa deliver a few selection boxes in December. It is a pleasure to support the children as they move through these stages in school and where we were able to attend it is a joy to see them grow and develop with their families.
Park Lodge PTA is lucky to have a generous community of supporters who give time, money and gifts throughout the year. Individuals and businesses came together throughout 202425 to ensure the success of our various events. We grately appreciate the school staff team for all the support they provide and which enables the PTA to operate. In particular our thanks to interim Principal Mrs Cahill, Mr Morrow, Nicky, Gemma and Richard.
We are incredibly proud and grateful for the funds raised throughout the year, but we are are even more grateful for the community spirit and support that exists within and around our school.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Our first activity of the year was a sponsored Fitness Fun Day in October 2024, it raised a massive £11,500. Thank you to everyone for their generous support and to the pupils who put so much effort into achieving those miles.
Next on the calendar was the Christmas Ballot raising £1,160. This year we received very generous support from our amazing community of local businesses.
We were also delighted to host a Quiz Night in April, kindly sponsored by Shanroe Property Development. The night was a great success, raising and a welcome opportunity for parents and guardians to get together. We had a great evening with Quiz Master John Hill and prizes kindly donated by Madigan’s Court and The Salty Bouy Beer Company. The raffle held on the night raised was similarly very generously supported by local businesses and together with the quiz raised £1,170.
As always our major community event of the year is the Sausage Sizzle, and this year was a particularly enjoyable event. We had an amazing response from our volunteers, parents, guardians and staff, who came together to organise and facilitate a lovely evening for the whole school community. Again we were generously supported by our local business community, who donated raffle prizes and also Murphy Brown’s Restaurant, which sponsored tickets. While the Sausage Sizzle is primarily a community event we did raise over £5,000 on the night.
These funds are vital at a time of reduced school budgets. In this school year we were delighted to fund the purchase of a suit of iPads to benefit the entire school, as well as support the specific needs of pupils with SEND. Our efforts also enabled the purchase of a 3year subscription to Education City for the entire school and other maths resources. In addition to supporting these very specific educational needs, we were also able to continue our support of the annual community events organised by Park Lodge’s incredible and highly committed staff team.
Thank you to pupils, staff and families and local businesses who supported the PTA throughout the year. It really does take a village to raise a child, and our Park Lodge village
came together this year to raise funds for school resources, but also to provide our children with support, building great memories and great community.
