Ballymoney Churches Forum Trustees Report - 1 April 2017 - 31 March 2018
Our meetings during this financial year were held on 21 Sept, 16 Nov, 18 Jan and 15 Mar. Our meeting in May 2107 had to be cancelled because of a funeral. In Sept '17 we planned our AGM and future meetings for the financial year. Pat gave an overview of our aims and objectives for the benefit of the new Salvation Army staff who had been posted to Ballymoney and Coleraine - Major Jane-Marie and Lieutenant Tim Cook - we were delighted to welcome them to our meeting.
At the November meeting Sgt Terry McKenna, who is responsible for community policing in the are spoke about his role and the Causeway Coast and Glens Council's Community Safety Policy. We held our AGM - postpones from May. (minutes attached separately).
In January 2018 Major Jane-Marie Cook gave us an overview of the Salvation Army and its history. She also shared with us about their calling to the Ballymoney area and her own faith journey. Our March meeting was taken up with planning our next AGM and discussing the impending Data Protection legislation and how it would affect us. Angela Mulholland, from the Building Communities Resource Centre joined us briefly to outline future meetings and events which might be of interest to us.
Unfortunately the most memorable event of this year in our history was the passing of our esteemed founder member and friend Mildred Poots - she was an inspiration to us all and is greatly missed.
All our activities reflect our Public Benefit statement and are open to everyone (advertised in the 'What's On' section of the local paper). There are no personal benefits gained by any of the trustees and our purposes cause no harm to anyone. Jenny Kerr Secretary
