## Activities

**Purposes:** 3.1	The Association is established for the relief of disability among people with visual impairment in the Mid Ulster area (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) and to promote the protection and preservation of health of such persons and their families and for the advancement of education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfares for recreation or leisure-time occupation with the object of improving conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular:  a)	To foster an atmosphere of mutual support among families of a person with visual impairment or sight disability and encourage them to provide mutual support and encouragement to each other;  b)	To raise awareness for the benefit of the public about the needs and experiences of people with visual impairment or sight disability, the effects on parents and other family members of caring for a person with the condition and about the methods of caring for a person with a disability
