September 2023.
Mission, Objectives and Strategy
Mlssion Statement
Compliance with Public Benefit
The Charity Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's statutory public benefit guidance
to ensure that activities entered into during the year have helped lo achieve tre charity's aims and objectives as w611 as
providing public benefit.
Objo¢tlves
The purposes of the charity are
Fundraising for research into cure and treatment of tho condition known as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Giving practical & financial help
Lobbying for improvements in standards of care for Duch8nne Muscular Dystrophy patients in local hospitals and
implementation of internationally accepted best practice standards of care by GP'S and hospitals in order to improve
life expectancy
Raising awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at local, national and governmèntal level through information
pamphlets and lobbying local councillors, MLA'S, MP'S and government ministers
Raising awareness of need for more funding
Raising awareness of need to simplify means of clinical trials for genetic medicines that will bring treatments to market
much more quickly.

Governance
The principal document regarding governanc8 of the charity is the constitution. The charity is an unincorporated
organisab'on.
Revlew of Activities, Achievements and Performance
The charity received £500 in donations during the financial year.
During 2023 the charity donated £2,000 to Muscular Dystrophy UK for Continued research inlo the condition Duchenne
Muscular Dystrophy. The charity also provided funding to facilitate physiotherapy to two local boys.
Financial Review
The ￿ceIptS and payments accounts set out on page 6 reflect the activities undertaken by the charity in 2023. The
charity had income of £500 and expenditure of £2,983 resulting in a deficit of £2,483. The charity had unTestTlCted
reserves of £50,506 at 30 Septemb8r 2023.
At the end of the financial year the charity has 8ssets of £so,5￿(2022 - £54.989) and liabilities of £O.0012022- £2,000).
The net assets of the charity have decreased by £12,483).
Future Developments
Funds will be utilized from 1st October 2023 to 30th September 2024 in the following way.,
to continue to pledge monies to Research for CU￿ or treatments of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
to continue lo supply equipment or other essentials (not catered for by N.H.S. or other bodies) to the sufferers, when
and as required.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF KILLOWEN FUNDRAISING GROUP
We have examined the financial statements of the charity for the financial year ended 30 September 2023, which
comprise the Financial Statements.
This report is made solely to the charity's members, as a body, in accordance with the Charities Act INorthern Ireland)
2008. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile the financial statement5 that we have been engaged to
compile, report to the Board of Trustees that we have done so. and state those matters that we have agreed to stale to
them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume
responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the charity's members, as a body, for our work, or for this report.
Respectlve responsibilities of trustees and examinèr
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparab'on of the financial statements in accordance wrth the requirements
of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. The charity's trustees consider thal an audit is not required for this financial
year under the Charities Act (Northern Ir81andl 2008 and that an independent examination is required.
It is our responsibility to..
examine the financial slatements under section 65 of the Charities Act.,
follow the procedures laid down by the general Direction5 given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland
under section 6519)Ibl of the Charities Act, and
state whether particular matters have com6 to our attention.
Basis of independent examiner's roport
We have examined your charity financial statements as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and our
examination was carried out in accordan￿ with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern
Ireland under section 65191{bl of the Charities Act. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by
tho charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with thos8 records. It also includes consideration of
any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and seeking explanations from the trustees con￿mIng any
such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and
consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fail view and the report is limited to
those matters set OLrt in the statement below.
In connection wilh our examination, no matter has come to our attention which gives us cause to believe that in, any
material respect..
accounting records were not kept in accordance wilh section 63 of the Charities Act
