Objectives and Activitles- The purposè of charfty Is to.,
1. To offer valuable. prJcty'cal help and conbnuous support to the Gfant brothers from Killowen who suffer from
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (Duchennel and their pa￿nts.
2. To offer support and advice lo other Duchenn* families in the NewrylMc¥Jmè DistrKt CouncAI Area
3. To raise funds in the South Down area by local events and awa￿n￿&S of need fr)r morè fvnding.
4. To use the$8 events lo create aVra￿neSS of Duthenne in the community radi0lpre￿lnt8rnèUS0¢lal
medlalinlomation sheètslfundralser￿8cts'¥ltses/pr0iectS
5. To support thè wider Duchenne community via "Acb"on D￿henne. and lobbwrKJ.
6. To assist currant rasèarch projects that aim lo pro￿de better trealments tor Duchenne
7. To ensurè ihe Charity has adequate fvnds to enable the benefiGiaries to benefit from new treatrnent should any
become available.
In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year the trustees have given car&fiJl consideration to the
Charity Commission for Northem Ir81and's guidance on public benefit. lo ensure that th8 activitias have helped to
achieve the charity's purpose and pro¥ride a benefii to the beneficiari&s.

Th& Charity have continued to successfully raise ftjnds in the local area. Tho annual 'rniles for rnuscles. run was once
again a very surxessfvl and enjoyable day. The tharity organised a trip lo Di8noyland lor its b&ngfi¢iaries which
would not have been possible without the help of the charity.

Th& ¢h8rity incurred a deficit 01 £3,611 for the year ended 30m Septèmber 2018 m8inly due to thè one-off costs in
rela¢J'on lo the trip lo Disneyland. At th8 year 8rK1ed Seplembèr 2018 the charity had reserves 01 £59,690, all of
which is unrestricted funds. Thes& funds are hehl in order to m8et expected fvture expenses should incomirrfJ
sources diminish or were iargets arè not achieved in the how that better treafment or even a cure for Duchenne
may available in Ihe fijture.
