charitable company is also registered wth HM Revenue & Customs. The HMRC Charities reference is
N100743. The ptinGipal office is the registered offi￿. 68 Hospital Road. Omagh. Co TyrDne, BT79 ODA.
The company was established under a Memorandum of Associab"on which establishes the objects and
powèrs of the charttable company 8nd is govemed under its Artides of Association.
The company has one trusteeldirector, Mr Daryl Jon Simpson. The company secretary is Ms Deirdre
McNamee.
Fr Patrick Kevin Mullan, fomer tru$tee and director. passed away on 6 May 2023.
Objectives and actlvltles . Gharftable purposes
The Company's objects are to provide a vehicle for young people from differing religious, cultural and social
backgrounds to join in song and performance.
How the charlty works
Omagh Community Youth choir comprises male and female members who are 16-21 years and are from all
seGtions of the loGal Gommunity, and are representative of all the local post primary schools. The thoir uses
choral music to promote peace and reconciliation through music. The choir perfoThs at local. national and
intemational events, spreading this message of peace and ￿COncl11ats'on.TheY are also available to aid and
support through their performances, fundraising events for other community groups and individuals with
likemindèd values. The choir performs al events IhroughoLrt Ihe year and also have under take tours on an
iniernationai ievei. Tfips io dale have Included England, 5wittertana, anu the USA on several occaslons.

Public Benefit staternent
The purpose of Omagh Community Youth Choir is to provide a vehicle for young people from differing
religious, cultural and social backgrounds to join in song and performance.
The direct benefits flowing from this purpose include bringing people together in a social, community or arts
project or perfomiance. The Choir mey elso volunteer services for performances which will generete funds
lo benefit such a chanty, church or individual. All perfomiances and events are chosen with Ihe purpose of
promotin9 peace and reconcilialion and generating community and social interaclion for the benefit of all
participants and concert attendees. Benefits also include providing a safe and friendly platform which will
give members an opportunity to develop their skills as singers and musicians. The emphasis is on
improving and working as a group but there is also time to support and develop as individuals. The Choir
encourages and develops cit12enship urilhin the members of the choir so th9t they may develop leadership
skills and mutual understanding.
These benefits can be demonstrated by the Gomprehen3ive list of perfomiance dates since the choirf5
inception. Intemational tours and tn'ps which help bond the members and help promote a positive message
of Northcm Ircland in the lo￿1, national and intemational communities. Not only do choir members benefit.
bul member families also benefit Ihrouqh the close co- operation In helping to achieve the aims of the choir.
The effect that performances have on the general public have given much positivity and inspiration to
Olhers, as well as entertainment tnrougn tne music.
The purposes of our charity will nol lead to any harm.
The charity's beneficiaries are members of the public who come along to public perfomiance5, choir
members and families who take a full role in the participating and development of the choir objectives,
church groups, schoo13 and other Small community based organisations who ask us lo perform at funGtions.
There ore no private benefits flowing from the purpose.
Taxation status
The organisalion is a registered charity. and we have therefore claimed exemption from tax.
Achlevements and pèrformancè
We are progessing on our objectives and targets and believe that our work is providing a 9￿at benefit to
Ine iocai community, especially in ihe wake of Ihe Covi¢-19 panaemic and Ihe current economic crisis In
the country.
Flnancial revlew
The organis8tion seen a signifieent ri3e in income and expenditure in the year ended 31 December 2023.
The trustees believe thal Ihe chanty Is in a strong financial position and are confident the reserves of the
company are of a sufficient level to be able to Continue the activities of the charity and to sejve their
beneficiaries for many years to come.
The unrestricted reserves are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general
objectives of the charity.
Finance reseNes are set aside to protect the charity against drops in income. The balance in the charity's
bank account at the balance sheet date 18 £36,737.
