Activities
The charity’s objects (‘the objects’) are 1. To establish and run an independent Christian church in the Ards Peninsula. 2. To advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with the statements of belief appearing in Article 4 of the church’s Constitution and Bye-laws. 3. To advance the Christian faith in the Ards Peninsula, Northern Ireland for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, public celebration of religious festivals, and producing and/or distributing literature on Christianity to enlighten others about the Christian faith. 4. To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society. -For the purpose of this clause ‘socially excluded’ means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one of more of the following factors: unemployment; financial hardship; youth or old age; ill health (physical or mental); substance abuse or dependency including alcohol and drugs; discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender re-assignment; poor educational or skills attainment; relationship and family breakdown; poor housing (that is housing that does not meet basic habitable standards; crime (either as a victim of crime or as an offender rehabilitating into society). 5. The relief of the physical and mental sickness of persons in need by reason of addiction to drugs and alcohol, in particular by the provision of prayer, support and counselling. 6. To relieve the mental and physical sickness of persons resident in the Ards Peninsula, Northern Ireland suffering from bereavement or loss by the provision of prayer, support and counselling for such persons. 7. The relief of the sick-poor living in the Ards Peninsula, Northern Ireland, either generally or individually through the provision of grants, goods or services.
