During the year ending the 31" Ottober 2023, the band continued to pursue its aim of promoting brass band music to fulfil its public benefit obligations. The band practises weekly throughout the year rehearsin8 for events and to further advance the abS1ity and skills of band members throu8h studying and practising new pieces of muslc. The band committee is pleased that some members have successfully moved to other sections of the band in order to maintain a balance across the various parts. Band instruments continue to be kept in good repalr. The band took part In an extensive range of events Includlng contests, concerts, church servlces, parades and performing for charitable organisations such as the Royal Brltlsh Legion. The band appreclates the support It contlnues to recelve from these organlsatlons and the wlder public. Any donations recelved for such engagements are voluntary. These events 8lve the general publlc the opportunity to listen to, enjoy and appreciate the wide repertoire of brass band music, helping to Improve both the cultural and social wellbeing of those who attend.
