Trustees report for year ended 30tb September 2019 Year b numbers Community inforniation/literature distribution Wellbeinglmindthlness educational day trips Memorial service for injure(Vdeceased fefighterS Donations to other charities in memory of deceased fire fighters Fundraising activities Grants received from Mid Ulster Council Communit inforn]ationlLiterature distribution Wc have held six days of literature distribution and have always had at least four members available to inforni the general public on the prevention of fires, poisonous fumes and also farmyard safety advice with the assistance of the Health and Safety Executive. We have completed our Carbon Monoxide detector project and the last of the detectors have now been distributed to the community. This project was well received and it has been suggested that we ty and fimd a second batch of carbon monoxide detectors to promote awareness of the dangers in the home and businesses from poisonous fumes. Wellbein mindfulness educational da There were two educational day trips arranged to promote good welfare and physica] and mental health, with activities to reduce feelings of isolation and provide support for retired firefighteTS and their family. On evaluation of those who attended the trips it was reported that the trips were most enjoyable, educational and all looked fonvard to another day. Attendees all reported that they felt a lot happier and less stressed for a time after the trips. Memorial Service The annual memorial service in Dublin was not attended this year du¢ to covid 19 numbers still being high in Dublin. We hope to attend next y&qr. Deceased fire fi hters Unfortunately, we have lost a founding member of the associatio the association members decided to provide food for the wake. Fundraisin activities Due to covid 19 all fundraising dances and bag packing in superniarkets wer¢ cancelled. Other Income
The members of the association also paid dues to help cover some of the cost of insurance. Events insurance covers association for basic public liability for £288.00 covering the period 07103122 to 06103123. Aims for 202212023 Given the positive public engagement with our community infornvation and literature distribution days, we will ty to get more days arranged to increase Fire and Safety awareness for the general public. The continuation of the carbon monoxide detectors project which are given free to the public paid for by our fundraising activities.
